Hey guys,

My case number was assigned by NVC on June 27th, case has been sent out from NVC on July 9th, on July 11th they updated the status again and it changed to "Ready", I was planning on doing the DS-160 and waiting for the consulate email with instructions on what to do. Do I really need to wait that e-mail, or can I just fill the DS-160 and Register on the website to schedule interview? I'm kinda lost and the info I've found on RDJ it's a little outdated already.

Thanks in advance.

The most recent info from applicants in rio say that they were successful in filling the ds160 and scheduling interview as soon as it showed ready on ceac.

you can certainly wait, there’s no real rush.

go to the consulates website and there will be the info they send you by email so you can start getting docs ready and everything else organized

You can do both. The consulate will eventually email you the p3 packet, however this information is available on the consulate website. https://br.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/the-interview-2/

My fiance (Jay) is writing up his review and I will post it soon. KM Cam's July 4th review from their interview on July 2nd is very accurate.
