Just wanted to update:

Wrote to the big guy at the company and told him that I could prove the reasons for my title demotion were invalid and the real reasons why I thought this was being done.

He called me in the office today and (having smelled lawsuit written all over it) backed off completely, said it should have been discussed and that he had no problem with me keeping my title. He actually agreed that all my reasons were valid and legitimate and he understood my concerns and would enable me to keep my title.

Here's to a victory for the small people!!!!

Agree that it is a good idea. The place I left in 2000, I specifically stated (in my resignation letter) that I had spotted a sickness within the company--though I did not specify it. The fact of their being driven out a year later only backed-up that statement.
