Hi everyone!

So, right. I start today, June 1st. I am trying to lose 50 pounds by late Fall/early Winter. I think it's possible, as I've done it before. I definitely don't starve myself, just cut down on portion sizes and watch the junk. I've nearly cut out one of my favorite treats...Classic Coke, but I'll still have one occasionally...just because I can. ;)

Join me!!! Use this thread for any and all tips you want to share...and your own progress....however much or little you wish to share.

I'm going to add more about my own reasons/what I'm going to do/etc. tonight, but I just wanted to get this started. Who's with me???? :) Michelle

Oh yes! That's a big part of my plan, Nes. I'm going to start slowly, because I am soooooo out of shape and have bad back problems (the pain clinic set me up with a surgical consult for July 6... :( I hope to avoid that, but it's really bad, so it may be necessary. Not sure yet.) Anyway, yes. I'm going to walk, primarily. If I had access to other things like swimming, etc. I would do that too, but I don't right now. I do hope to use the weight room at Corey's school to tone after while as well. :)

Will write more later...cleaning the house/making supper right now....probably be back on late tonight to add more to my "first" post. :) M.

I've been on Weight Watchers for a few weeks now so count me in. I don't really have a number goal since I tend to mess that up. Just going one week at a time and staying within my "points" that I'm allotted. It would be nice to drop a dress size for my trip to see hubby towards the end of July, but like I said, I'm just taking it one week at a time.

I was looking at pictures of me before I had my kids.:blink::blink: Didn't help that I gained 50lbs with each child and that they were back to back. I have lost the bulk of that weight but still could lose a good 30.

I'll join in with ya. I want to lose the 10 lbs. I gained in on my last trip. The fiancee' took too good care of me! This is good timing. I just started yesterday going back to the gym. I am going to do 45 minutes in the morning and 45 minutes in the evening with cardio and low intensity weight-lifting every day. I weighed in at 160 lbs. The goal to hit below 150 lbs. :D

In March of 2005, I decided to eat healthy and exercise, and now, over two years later I'm over 50 lbs. lighter and have never looked back! My advice is don't 'diet'! Incorporate healthy foods into your diet, while weeding out the junk. Eat your fruits, veggies and whole grains, drink plenty of water, and exercise. Do both cardio and weight training. You just need a good pair of running shoes, an exercise ball, and some 8-12 lb. weights and you're good to go. I've done a lot of different forms of cardio, and I believe running gives the best results, and no expensive equipment necessary. It was hard at first and I wanted to die, but you'll build endurance and get stronger. Losing weight takes a lot of patience, it can be even slower than waiting for your visa, but don't give up! Good luck!

Count me in! I'm down 15 pounds since April. I've starting walking A LOT , lift weights and do my elliptical for at least 1 hour a day, and have cut out all bad carbs. Ok, except for today when I had to have a Culvers shake. I'd like to lost 25 more. I'm a diabetic and my goal is to hopefully be able to discountinue at least 1 medication by the end of the year.

Do you find it hard to lose weight on your meds? My mom's a diabetic...so is my husband's uncle...and they gained weight after starting the meds. My mom only managed to lose weight after she had chemotherapy. My husband's uncle has gained about 100 pounds since he was diagnosed and now he's on insulin. :(

YES......because I'm always hungry!!!! Makes me soooo mad when I'm really trying hard to lose weight and my stomach is talking to me  Now I eat little portions of protein during the day which helps !00% with the tummy growling at me.

Evolution hasn't yet caught up with sitting in front a computer all day. I suffer from a Mammoth hunter appetite. Does anybody know where some good hunting grounds are in the LA area?

Steve - climb the western wall of Temescal Canyon every day. You'll be fit as a fiddle in no time!

I've been walking a mile to Sainsbury's and a mile back 2-3 times a week for the last couple of weeks, and the days I don't go to Sainsbury's I usually go to Spar for something or other. I've lost 5 pounds in those 2 weeks and I've totally pigged out too.

Is that why? I don't know much about it but I suppose I should learn; with a diabetic mom I have a decent chance of developing it myself. :(
