Latest on medical exam while on period (manila)

There are a couple of old threads on this but nothing too new.  The State Department website clearly states that you can have the medical exam while on your period.

"Can the applicant have a medical exam if she is having her menstrual period?"

"Yes, the applicant may have the examination even if she is having her menstrual period."

For that reason we didn't worry about things when we booked our flights and made our plans.

Now, I'm reading that St. Luke's Hospital does not allow you take the medical exam if you are on your period, and for a week after your period ends.   My wife's period  (which is irregular) has not started yet, but well might before or during the start of the medical exam in 2 days.   We have several hundred dollars invested in non-refundable plane tickets and hotels for this exam and for her subsequent interview visit two weeks hence in Manila (which we will have to cancel as well).   I'm hoping the hospital will have a work around to this policy given that it is not prominently mentioned in any materials we received, and it runs contrary to what the State Department says on their website ( https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/interview/interview-prepare/medical-examination-faqs.html ).

I'm hoping there's a work-around to this.

I have not read anything on the St. Luke's website that states you can't complete your medical during her period.  (at least not in the the past couple years)

(what they don't want is blood in the urine for that testing)

As for interview after the medical at SLEC, you can complete the interview a day or two after the medical without issue (medical file is hand carried by the applicant these days)

One more thing to get handled quickly is CFO

Hi no need to worry.  My fiancée had her medical at SLEC on June 25th and 26th during heaviest days of her period. I was especially stressed as her interview was on June 27th.  It used to be that St Luke’s would not let you take medical during period but that changed in 2017 I believe.  The only issue was that my fiancée had to give a urine sample twice as the first one had too much blood in it.  Everything turned out fine and she passed her medical, we got her results at 10:30 Pm on June 26th, went to USEM for 6:45 am interview on 27th and she passed.

Good luck!
