So you basically have two choices, depending on your priorities. You can continue with DCF, nice and fast (and slightly cheaper because there is no AOS fee) but you would need a joint sponsor as you will not be in your job quickly enough to be over the threshold for this timescale.

Or you delay things and take it slowly and wait until you are settled in your job and then you won’t need a joint sponsor.

Apologies if this has already been suggested (or is a generally dumb suggestion from someone who knows the employment GC process better than family), but cant one qualify on assets rather than current US sourced income, avoiding the need for a joint sponsor?

Thank you for all the help and information 😁

Do I still have to complete I-130 form or just the DS-260?

A marriage based immigrant visa process requires an I-130 petition first to make sure the American qualifies to bring a spouse to the US.  If you are going to file DCF through the USCIS office in London, I provided you a link in this thread about four posts up (posted Saturday). That link takes you to all the information and a checklist of what you need to do to get started with filing the petition to the London USCIS.

Once the American's I-130 petition is approved, then it all goes to the US consulate/embassy. That is where the British spouse applies for the visa (DS-260), has a medical exam, and interviews for visa approval.

Yes, I saw that. There was no mention of the I-130 so I had to be sure. Thank you again for the information 😊

Yes assets can be used.  For a husband/wife, household of two, it would be about $64,000 minimum in assets that could be easily liquidated in lieu of the American spouse having a job.

This is your bible for how to start DCF IN London. Bookmark it. No other list or forum is going to spell it out in detail like the place where you will file.
