Photos on facebook, huh? With the new DS260 asking for social media handles too? Good luck getting out of that one.

They are already in the US and this happened after the interview, so they won’t need to fill out the forms

As helpful as this site is, there is a habit to swarm and pounce at every minor transgression either real or perceived, in some cases with the sense of outright gloating and schadenfreude. Can whoever misinterpret some picture as legal wedding, and act on it? Sure, that is a risk. How high is it? I bet that varies by PoE, and by county of the beneficiary. Is it better to not do it? Probably. It is probably better not drive over speed limit as well. Regardless, barring someone hiding access to time machine, what is done is done. They are not legally married regardless what pictures might imply. Everyone can play dress up. They will get married in US, and have proper marriage certificate with proper date after POE and before 90 days, which is what actually makes marriage legal, and that very likely would be the end of it.

There really is no end in sight considering that even citizenship can be taken away, YEARS later, if it was deemed fraudulently achieved.

Are the chances of that really low?  Like insanely low? Yes.  But it's a chance.

I mean I drive every day with a higher chance of dying than that happening to someone, but that doesn't mean it can't.   People can make their own choices. If you choose to post those choices on a public forum, well that was also a choice and if you can't live with that, you shouldn't have done it.

Who pounced?  “Likely” is not good enough odds during immigration considering the consequences of an error.

After watching cases for so many years unwinding the whole thing is as easy as some friend or family member not liking the new spouse and making a call.  Each step builds on and is based on the next like a row of dominos. First domino down?  Knocks the rest over.

The immigration path should be legal, aboveboard, audit-able, and blameless.

A K1 immigrant date-posting a gathering in a wedding dress before US arrival is trouble and paperwork that a couple does not need.  Deportable?  Probably not.  Start all over?  Who needs that.

Agree! People on this forum definitely have a lot of very helpful knowledge but unfurtunately some seem to enjoy roasting others for not having that knowledge or accuse them of lying.

The immigration process and forms don't end when an immigrant enters the US.  There's adjustment of status, greencard renewals, possibly citizenship.
