Tax return docs for AOS

Hey guys,

 

My husband is the US citizen and has gave me his tax returns but they are on headed paper from H&R Block. Did any of you guys use this for you evidence?

I would download the transcripts from the IRS website

Because H&R Block electronically filed them....which is acceptable.......but I agree with above that transcripts are better as they are official IRS documents which indicate what the IRS received.

I agree that a 2018 tax return transcript is a very efficient way to provide tax return information because you will know you have the right thing. If it says H&R Block anywhere on the page, then it's not a copy of the actual tax return, so no to what you described. Also, London does not require a tax return from a K1 if you have another way to prove income, like an employer letter or statement. Do what's easiest for you, but you don't need to prove income to London four different ways or bring more that 2018 if using a tax return.

Hello! We are wondering  how many years of tax returns did you send for AOS from a K1 is it enough to send only 2018 ?

The instructions say--

A copy of their individual Federal income tax return, including W-2s and 1099s, for the most recent tax year, or evidence that they were not required to file. You may submit this information for the most recent three years if you believe it will help you qualify. 

 

Personally, if I had three stellar years, I would send three. If 2016 and 2017 were weak or below the poverty level, then they would probably not be aiding your cause. That's just my opinion. You choose what you want to do. Getting three transcripts is the same price as getting one transcript. $0.
