Hi everyone.

I recently remembered that at the time of my medical I had one shot to get and the doctor suggested I do it in the states. My GC interview has been scheduled so this is the time to get it done!
The vaccination is DT, but it seems like most people either dont know what I'm talking about or dont have it in stock. It's weird!

I included my vaccination worksheet below.

I was wondering if B meant I need to get a booster shot. And if it is indeed DT or if maybe it's called differently here. I was also wondering if someone has experience with an incomplete worksheet that says "K1 applicant electing not to be vaccinated at this examination."

Thanks! The only remotely similar post I found was from 2018 and it was about sweden, so I wasn't sure it was correct/still relevant info.

Don't know what the B exemption means, but I do know that it does not mean booster. I believe A means not age appropriate.

DT is one of several vaccines available for Diphtheria/tetanus. According to CDC, DT, DTaP and DTP are not age appropriate after age 6, so you don't need those. For ages 7+, the appropriate vaccine is Tdap, followed by a Td booster every 10 years. Tdap adds protection from pertussis.

Since you were vaccinated as a child against Diphtheria/Tetanus/pertussis with either DTP or DTaP, you may have only required the Td booster, which it looks like you got last year. Have a doctor confirm this. That leads me to believe that the vaccine that you still need to get is the influenza, although currently it is not flu season.

Thanks for the clarification around DT. Not sure why everyone's so confused when I call them to book an appointment, then! haha.

I did get my flu shot in October last year, so I'm all set until fall!

Thank you so much!

I got the flu shot before moving/before my medical.
Although my country of origin is Italy, I did medical + interview in London as I resided there.

Because it is not marked as complete, you will have to redo everything with a US Civil Surgeon. It doesnt matter what the column says now but if you want to know what B means you should look at the legend. You have cut it off in your photo on the bottom right.

By looking at your DS3025, the PP clearly did not know what they were doing.

Your vaccines are complete and should have been marked as so.

I have same vaccination record from the same place. I was born in Romania and moved to UK 10 years ago. They would not recognize the Td I had when I was a child, so I got the same first shot as you got and told to get rest in US. B stands for insufficient time interval to complete series.  As @K1visaHopeful said, it looks like there is a mistake, at least mine says 'K1 Visa applicant voluntarily completed vaccination requirements'. Yours should be marked the same, as you volunteered to get that first shot. It should have been B for Td. I think they filled out and made a mistake!!!

I am really sorry this happened to you😔. The nurse there tried to convince me that I can have all the missing shots in US. Of course, I knew better not to listen to her. I also had to do one MMR, because in ‘88 -‘89 in communist Romania they only gave Measles&Rubella.

I am still searching on the forum for cases like yours, trying to find a solution. But at this point, I don’t think the London clinic can help you modify it because it is already submitted. Unless, there’s a way for them to contact the place where you will have the interview with the correct vaccination report! I mean, the date of your voluntary vaccination it’s written right there!

I wish you good luck! Keep me posted and I will tag you if I see a solution.

If you agreed when the doctor suggested to get one of the shots in the US, there is no mistake on your form: it is marked correctly as you elected not to be vaccinated at the examination.

Now, the odd thing is that you actually have all the required vaccinations.

I don’t know if immigration officers go just by the checkbox at the bottom of the page or actually check each shot is marked to see if all are covered.

I think your choices are: getting it fixed by the original physician, paying for the transcription here or explaining the situation at the time of the interview.

Just found the following at the USCIS policy manual. It might make you feel less concerned.

"The officer should be aware that civil surgeons may improperly mark the boxes because they may misunderstand the meaning of these boxes. Therefore, the officer should determine, from the vaccination assessment completed by the civil surgeon, whether the applicant received all vaccines, which blanket waivers should be granted, and whether the applicant requires any other waivers. The officer should exercise discretion in reviewing the vaccination chart and when evaluating the results boxes at the bottom of the vaccination assessment chart.”

If you are between 19 to 49 years old, these are ALL the vaccinations you need:

-Td or Tdap

-MMR

-Varicella

-Influenza (during flu season only; Oct. 1 thru Mar. 31)

@Allaboutwaiting @K1visaHopeful

I've been agonizing about this for awhile now

jvPTgoJ.jpg

Our attempt to find reasonably priced civil surgeon in San Diego area and were unsuccessful locally. Some listed on USCIS website don't even do those anymore. One annoyingly told me "Doctor hasn't done it in 5 years!"
Unfortunately at the time of the examination I was not aware of the form, and  we had other issues to deal with, so it looked complete to me.  Now I don't know, as I cannot quite figure the whole DTP/DTaP/DT mess. We do not have AOS scheduled yet, status is ready for interview.

@Shiran if you look at my attachment up, you will see most is waived as A - not age appropriate. The only ones that seem to be very important to have are MMR, Td & influenza(if you had your examination done around flu season). It looks like you have MMR, but it depends if the civil surgeon recognize them as valid. So, you need the Td.

Not sure about the civil surgeon, here in WA there are some that charge $395 for I693 and charges separate for Td - $89.
