What to include with the Affidavit of Support?

Hello!

 

Should I include the last 3 federal tax returns or just the last one? The USCIS website states that the last one is enough but I have been reading on this forum that it's good to have the last 3 years worth of tax returns.

Depends on your Embassy requirements. Ours only require last year so Im only including 1 year. Email your embassy or check here on VJ on your Consul/Embassy review page and someone should have listed requirements. Otherwise email your embassy or check their website.

I brought federal tax returns and W-2's from the last three years to our interview but they only kept the most recent year's documents and gave me back the other two years. I also brought my 3 most recent pay stubs, a letter from my employer, and a list of my stocks.

If self-employed, should I bring bank statements instead of pay stubs?
