I would like to raise some issues. Ive been with some facebook groups, reading some articles, following USCIS processing time table. In their website ( uscis) , they are processing June 30, 2017. But in some fb groups, some oct., nov., dec. 2017 pd are having their approvals under CSC. How come we have to understand the timetable but their actions are unpredictable, random, that's why it is so confusing. I guess we could only guess which case they will approve first. Kinda frustrating to us who are waiting to be approve. Though the visa is current for f2a, it is senseless unless we are approve. Hope some people can enlighten us how the state will process our cases.

Its been 349 days since they received my case.

No that is the case inquiry date.   If you filed before that date and haven't heard anything then you can contact them.

NOA2 dates are based on how the case is processed.   RFE, petitioner background checks and such add more variability.

Don't pay attention to the US Dept of State Visa Bulletin yet.  You have another year and USCIS and then the NVC and who knows if your priority date will be current then.

Save yourself stress and DO NOT follow the facebook groups.  Just live your life the best you can.   You'll just drive yourself crazy.   Check the USCIS site every 3 or 4 months until you get close.

I know it is frustrating to wait for them to approve I130 and then wait for consular I have been in confusion too if being current helps our case to go forward and remove all the backlogs. If someone knows please share. Thanks

The State Department Visa Bulletin is Current but that is only for petitions that are approved and gone thru NVC.   USCIS F2A processing is about 2 years.

Visa Bulletin being current does not affect USCIS.

What is important is that the Visa Bulletin is current once you are done at USCIS.

The frustrating part is you know your priority date is being current but can't move because You are stuck in USCIS. And they are randomly approving without order by dates.

I guess visa bulletin is not important afterall, it just makes your hopes up but only hope cluelessly. Ive seen some people who has approval but despite of current status of visa bulletin they still havent receive welcome letter or interview letter. Thats why we dont get how they work on the system.

The first priority for Spousal Visas are those filed by Citizens and then any by LPRs.   Dates get approved out of order for many reasons. Background of the Petitioner, RFEs, slower centers, slower adjudicators, the position of the moon and sun . . .

If only matters when your case is done at USCIS compared to if there is a Visa Available. Honestly many believe that F2A is only temporarily Current.   It has changed many times, up and down, over the last decades.

Paul & Mary already explained it is not random.

You can’t expect them to issue visas without ensuring the petition is valid, doing background checks etc.

To long process my husband PD January 2018 waiting for approval now USCIS working October 2017

I'm about that too, wait so we are no where near close? That is a shame, I got a ray of hope when the case updated to transfer to another place after it being at receipt for 16 months.  So if you had a Jan 2018 PD, and Visa Bulletin is current, you are still no where close?

It doesn't matter what the Visa Bulletin says today.  What matters is what the Visa Bulletin says after you are done at USCIS and NVC.

Immigration happens in order . . .

You are not eligible for a VISA yet because USCIS (DHS) has not adjudicated your case.

Then it goes to the NVC

Then if a Visa Number is available (PD is Current) it goes to the consulate (Dept of State).

If you read the VB properly it says “Numbers are authorized for issuance only for applicants whose priority date is earlier than the final action date listed below.” So unless there is actual retrogression, Jan 2018 will still remain earlier than whatever later date gets published and you will still be current.

Thank you, this makes more sense.
