on top of this and getting the new passport ,  we were both going to get the global entry from TSA

i just looked at the site and saw this

Has anyone done the global entry and know if it is worth it?

The extended partial government shutdown has resulted in a substantial backlog of CBP's Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) applications and renewals.

Congrats!

Not sure about Global Entry, but we did both do Pre-check which in my opinion has been worth it.  We may do GE in the future, but right now most of our POEs are in Detroit, and I don’t see the worth there, just using the regular kiosks, we usually pass CBP with out bags in about 15-20 minutes.  Coming into busier international airports, I imagine it is worth it.

This is exactly my point, specially JFK airport with tons of passenger landed everyday. Every time I landed to this airport took me an hour just to pass the CBP and even LGA airport, it's annoying and tiring coming from almost 24 hours flight.

we finally made it

just have to wait now for the oath ceremony

WOW   long road 9 years from 1st K1 denial and thru an appeals court to be approved

for those of you going thru a difficult path for your visa process

it is hard to wait

it is heartbreaking to be apart

immigration may at times seem heartless but they have a job clearly spelled out and they need to follow proceedure

stats in the Nashville office Friday said USCIS approves 26,000 applications daily

and 78 adoptions daily

In  the end it is all worth it and there is a light at the end of this tunnel

good luck to all

Yesssss congratulations!!! I wish you two the best!

Global entry is definitely worth it!  The time save on just domestic travel alone takes travel stress down substantially.  Also helps avoid long lines on the way back from overseas.  Definitely go for it.

Congrats on getting through the citizenship process!  This was one of the first resources I found when we started and I've always been so appreciative of the help you've given other couples along the way.  I admire the perseverance you both showed getting through this.  Enjoy being paperwork-free!!

FYI, your thread prompted me to apply for GE for both myself and Katya.  Filled everything out last Wednesday evening, and received conditional approval early this morning.  Interviews are set for July 31st.

Good Luck!
