thanks for your reply.

That was my main concern -  the building basically deals with every variation of immigration and related services, so I thought it might become crowded early outside (from the pics i've seen on Yelp etc.), I'll definitely be there at least half an hour ahead of time, thank you!

also - I've been thinking about the COVID-19 situation regarding all of this too, and I can certainly imagine Oath ceremonies being delayed over the next few months and possibly interviews as well.
There have been some 'Large Gathering' events in the area already cancelled so I would think the idea of 5,000 people turning up at Staples Center could well become an issue.

I suppose a positive way to look at it, is that it's all been one long waiting game anyway..  but that's not much comfort when 'so near the finish line' as it were - I guess these are all things we should expect given the current situation too.

very best wishes to you and your wife for a smooth process going forward!

I had my interview today (in LA) not a long wait. Approved, she said to wait for the letter because as of now nobody knows how they'll handle the ceremonies and when. I guess it's just back to waiting as usual ;) better safe than sorry. Hope everybody stays safe!

I just saw it... Although I sympathize, it seems like this process is never ending at least in my case :D

On the other hand I filed online and she didn't ask me for anything other than the questions in the application and the test. I had tons of new evidence and documents, pictures etc Not even for the copies of the essential documents or to see the originals 😮 When she gave the approval paper I was like do you want any of these :D

Wife has interview on 03/20 at SFO field office. They don't show as closed on USCIS web page and with the new "Shelter in place" across seven counties i wonder if USCIS will be open.

I am a fed worker in SF. My building is not shutting down, nor plans to anytime soon. That being said, my particular office is hoping to go to 90+% telework by next Monday (which was decided before the recent shelter-in-place decision by local officials).

Point being DC often dictates local fed operations more than anything else. Currently no USCIS field offices are closed.

Well you can disregard my previous reply. I just read on Twitter via a couple sources (reporter and an immigration law association) that USCIS in SF is cancelling all interviews through April 6 and will be reaching out to scheduled interviewees.

Wife just received an email from USCIS indicating that her interview is cancelled. I also sent a message to USCIS via myuscis.gov and they responded today that interview is cancelled.

Here is the email:

Dear Stakeholder,

To ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce, and in order to comply with local policies regarding Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) may need to cancel and reschedule in-person appointments and oath ceremonies at field offices. If you are receiving this notice, it is because we have cancelled your appointment or ceremony.

USCIS will send a separate notice with information about rescheduling the appointment or ceremony. If you don’t receive a new appointment notice in the next 90 days, please reach out to the USCIS Contact Center. If you receive this notice and had an InfoPass appointment at the field office, please reach out to the USCIS Contact Center to be rescheduled.

We hope this information is helpful. If you have any additional questions, please do not respond to this email but reach out to the USCIS Contact Center. To learn more about the Department of Homeland Security’s response to the coronavirus, visit their Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage.

Sincerely,

USCIS Contact Center
