I know that they need to have your physical package in front of them to conduct the interview, maybe they don't have it at your local office yet? Because they go through the pages so see your answers and to check facts with you.

Hello group! My interview is scheduled for 11/14 at the Atlanta field office. The interview notice reads that I should bring:

"

•This letter.
•Your Alien Registration Card ("green card").
•Any evidence of Selective Service Registration.
•Your passport and/or any other documents you used in connection with any entries into the United States.

If copies of a document were submitted as evidence with your N400 application, the originals of those documents should be brought to the interview.

"

I see in forums that people carry income tax documents, petitions from the past etc.

I'm wondering if I should carry those documents.

My green card is employment-based. Can somebody please comment based on their experience?

Thanks!

I suggest bringing original for everything that was submitted online and even relevant documents that you did not submit along with your application.

My wife had a combo interview and the officer asked if we had an original of our daughter's birth certificate. I don't know how it got lost online but luckily we brought originals for everything and he was able to make copies so he could approve both the same day.

It's better to bring everything and not use any of it than to be missing maybe one item that could potentially prolong the process unnecessarily.

I am either too slow to understand or missing something. Why should it be your responsibility to get your Immigration file?

It is in their custody and doesn't make sense why your appointment was cancelled because of that.

Typically what happens is the officer proceeds with the interview and will put approval on hold if need be pending when he receives the packet and not cancelling the interview in its entirety

Doesn't make sense to me how this is your responsibility. I will call and ask to speak with a Tier 2 officer or schedule an infopass appointment so somebody can do their job and quit pushing you around

I have an interview on Tuesday. I called USCIS to check where is my pending I-751 and was told that it’s not at my local office where the N400 interview will take place but at another service center (there was transfer from SRC to NBC in July). Was anyone in the same situation and still ended up having combo interview? I am assuming I will have N400 only. Seems like the officer won’t be able to do combo interview and/or approve I-751 without having it in hand, right? (Not sure if they possibly have our files online or it it’s all on paper if that makes sense).

You WILL have a combo interview. Make sure your spouse is there. We were separated for the I-751 first, and then wife had her Naturalization interview.

That’s what I was told few weeks ago however they don’t have my case at my local office. So I kinda doubt that they will Be able to do anything since they don’t have the physical packet there. Unless they have a mess in their system and they see my packet at NBC still even tho it might have been transferred to my local office ugh. 🙄🙄🙄

I call got a call Friday from a CO that my citizenship that was scheduled for Monday would be reschedule because he did not receive my files in time for the interview.

The same day my 751 was transferred to NBC Lee Summit and received the notice on the Nov 1st. I did not even know they sent notice that fast.

Now waiting for something that will, hopefully, not be a long wait for a combo interview.

I think all the info about your case is online. I don't think the officer who interviewed us had a physical copy for I-751. NBC reviews and preps the case for the interview. I have a feeling that the interviewing officer simply checks off boxes and makes annotations online. Our guy had trouble updating the info and kept saying the system is being slow.
