Just out of curiosity, will you guys be able to keep your birth country’s citizenship?

Thankfully mine allows dual citizenship. Otherwise, I don’t think I would have applied for the American naturalization.

I will keep mine as well. But there are number of countries that do not let you have a dual citizenship. Even if that were the case, I still would have naturalized in the US.

Countries like India don’t allow dual nationality and they are quite strict about it.

My Biometrics' appointment was scheduled for 7/23 and did a walk-in appointment today at a local office. It took them about an hour and a half to "squeeze" me in, but got it done!

My case completion period changed from 12 moths to 10months now after I did my biometrics. Also the status changed to "Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS". I really hope that it will take less than 10 months to complete. Good luck to us all!!!

Can we add a colunm for the completion period? I think it would be helpful to know. I could add it but since it's not my document I didn't do it.

Absolutely! It is a shared doc, so add, edit and change it to make it as convenient as it can get for us :) please add a column

That’s awesome! December 2019 is your estimate? I didn’t see your timeline in the shared table. Could you please update it? If you are getting everything wrapped up so quick, others might have a hope as well :) good luck!

Hello fellow July N-400 filers! I just got my 10-year GC last week after a surprisingly “shorter” 12-month I-751 LOC processing. I’m a military spouse and we are moving to a different state next month. I am torn between filing online or filing with Chicago which also apparently takes military dependents? Anyone here who had experience filing as military without having to reside abroad? I’m worried that if I file tomorrow, my biometrics get scheduled by an ASC near the state we’re leaving, but also I didn’t want to wait one more month.  😋 Thoughts? Also congratulations to recent I-751 survivors! We did it!!!

@erikavsw Massive Congratulations on your i-751 approval. It was a long and stressful period for all of us.

You are not in a “hopeless” situation here. You can file online and request change address service AFTER you are done with your biometrics. Generally your biometrics notice will appear in about a week after you file online and you can print it (instead of waiting for an actual letter to show up in your mailbox) and do a walk-in biometrics as soon as you have the printout. I did it and had no problems with it. After that you can request a change of address and your case will be transferred to the state that you will move to.

On the other hand, you can move, reside in that NEW state for 3 months and then apply for naturalization. Anyway, you have enough options to consider :) good luck with your application and keep us posted through the Shared Table.

@Al135 Thank you for your response! I am leaning towards just filing it online and hoping that the bio appt notification does comes fairly quickly like you said (hopefully before we need to leave the state- the ASC nearest me is a 4-hour drive from home and last time I went there for a bio, there was only like 1 other applicant so that was a good sign, capacity-wise) I did a little research about the 3-months residency requirement some time in the past and saw that for military and dependents, that 3-month rule can be waived, but I guess I didnt want to risk that in case the processor misjudge my application. This is our last step! I can’t believe this day had come.

This is clearly an automated estimate so we will see how accurate it ends up being. Our I-751 is still pending. We sent a letter with the application asking to have both adjudicated at the same time, but who knows if that will happen or not. That could impact the timing.

Other than that, we are fortunate that our local field office is one of the fastest ones in the country. (Raleigh, NC)

I peaked in on the March 2019 filers, I found one from my local office that filed on 3/1 and wrapped up the interview on 6/14, so I'm hoping that is a good sign.

@CRB @JeffandTanya with i-751 still pending, I have seen lots of people getting combo interview for ROC and N-400. In these cases the time frame is a lot shorter than normal N-400 timeline. Hopefully our wait (people who already got their 10-year card and applied for Naturalization) won't be too long as well. :star:
