Thank you -- I think it's important for those of us who have been through these private hells to speak up for each other. There was absolutely no way I could win, and I felt trapped in a very comfortable disaster zone. Staying was the only thing I knew and leaving looked terrifying -- as much as my life was painful, it was what I knew. Jumping ship could be even worse (I thought) since I'd have to fend for myself. Good for you for leaving -- we don't have to stay, even though the "bad husbands" tell us we have to. ❤️

Ridiculous that your lawyer said that... You probably have a decent case, went to a womens shelter for it, went to a therapist and discussed it. You were not just mentally and emotionally but sexually abused.

 

Get out and try to do VAWA. I wish you the best.
