Hi everyone,

Congrats to all those who have interviews scheduled!!!

I just wanted to provide an update on our case. We got an RFIE on Sept 13 for my wife’s birth certificate and I thought they just lost it because we sent in two copies.

Apparently the BC we have is good for everything except the US green card process. In Honduras there’s another document called ‘Copia del Folio del Libro de Nacimiento’ that is only needed if you’re applying for US permanent residency hence my wife had no idea what this was nor did her family. I was finally able to find where and how to get this but it took longer than expected. I just sent it off to NBC with the translation.

Now we continue to wait. Good luck everyone!

Ours was 1 week later but I've seen people wait a few months. You never know when because there isn't a set standard. Hang in there, good luck that you hear something soon.

Ours took about 24 hours and it was only on the newer site, then the newer site stopped updating and the old site showed that our card was mailed.

We just received our green card in the mail today. After a couple of years of hurrying up to wait, our journey takes a rest for 2 years.

Thank you to anyone that has helped or sent words of encouragement over the last 2 years. We finally get some relief and time to relax.

To everyone still waiting, hopefully it won't be too much longer but it's all worth it when you get that green card. Good luck everyone!

Just received EAD/AP combo card upon expedition request under severe financial loss category. It’s actually easier than I thought to expedite your process upon a job offer.

I called USCIS hotline to submit my expedition request for EAD card because I got an offer. After 3 days, they sent me an email to request additional information. And it took no more than a week for them to approve my request after I faxed the supporting documents (cover letter, email from USCIS to request additional info, offer letter). Combo card arrived after 3 days.

Unless there is information you didn't provide that would prevent it, you should be able just to go to the local dmv to renew a state id.
