interview yesterday at Jacksonville.  Today, status shows the following.   Had every document needed and interview seemed to go well.  zero indication of whether or not we would be approved.   Read elsewhere that this message could change to Card Being Produced same day, or could go far longer.  Hope it's the former.

I was actually thinking about you during my interview. Our IO put a LOT of emphasis on my name change and how that’s something he looks for because legitimate married people have the same last name (he really said that) So, yeah, in 2019 a woman is still judged based on that BS. I believe you said your wife kept her name (and rightfully so) and it made me really hope your immigration officer was more “of the present day” than ours.

Nice !!!   Unfortunately for us, not the same in our case.   We're hoping to see that coveted "New Card is Being Produced" sometime today.  I do not want to wonder about this all weekend.

I hope you will hear back soon so you don't have wonder. Make sure you check both sites. Mine updated on 1 site but not the other and it was vice versa when we found out the interview was scheduled.

After having so much trouble with k1 visa, we waited just under 4 months for completion of AOS. We got very lucky. Good luck everyone!

Hey everyone,

Filed mid July for AOS from F1 and still waiting on EAD / AOS.  Had biometrics on 08/09/19. It's like almost everyone who filed in July has gotten some form of response and I'm still stuck on Fingerprint review was completed. Any July F1 to AOS gotten a response yet after biometrics and are F1 cases treated diff from others or all AOS cases are treated the same? Case is at NBC.

First off, congrats on your approval !!    That's absolutely great news, as to all the others.     And you're right, kept maiden name under the impression things would flow easier.  Ha.....easily deceived I guess !      I think its possible to have the absolute cleanest package go awry, while also possible the sloppier package can slide right through.......all in the luck of the draw as to which rep you get.   In our case, we are apparently destined to attract the pain all weekend as nothing is updated from this morning.   Still have an hour to go, but I'm guessing no news until next week.   Should happen.......ours involves no children, no RFEs, nothing at all unusual........cannot imagine why the delay.

Hi, I was adjusting from F-1 (filed in June). I couldn't tell that my case was treated differently than K-1 (besides I-130 filing in addition to I-485).

Anybody have a suggestion on a bank that will allow us to have a joint account.

we went to a creadit union and they said my wife needed u.s government issued id. we dont have a green card (trying to get a joint for our interview), state wouldnt give us a state id(i've b!tched about this before). no drivers license.

tried Ally bank. they would not allow her on the account until she has her Green card...again, see above.

so can anybody suggest a bank that wont be such a pain in the azz

We use Wells Fargo. Not sure what state you are in but they let us use her passport for ID.

@LuFloladyThey received mine on september 20th and my case still says ‘RFE was sent’. I called USCIS and they said I have to wait 60 days to make an inquere. and after that wait a month for the response. So it will mean that my case has been put on hold for 3 months. And not even for something I did wrong (I’m assuming they lost my BC)

So conclusion, I’m way worst than you guys. Keep it up!

If you’re in San Diego I’d recommend Wells Fargo. I was added to my husband’s account the next day we got married without the ssn. After I got my ssn card I went there and got my number added to my profile. They will use the visa page and passport bio info as proof of legal ID.

So people with completely outdated ideas of marriages and very little ability to think dynamically have significant power over peoples' futures?  Yeah, not much that can go wrong there..

Exactly.  We were told the following are what he looks for outside of health/life/car insurance:  both names on the house, name change, matching house keys, and matching tattoos.   It was astonishing.
