Also filed in July...have my hopes up following the change to max of 5.5 months....Trying not to check USCIS case status every day.

For you guys in Chicago, i have already completed my biometrics, so it seems like it's a local office issue

Hi guys! Wanted to check because I'm getting more than a little bit concerned. Case received by office on July 18, NOA1 on July 29, but still haven't received anything for biometrics. We're in Chicago. Called USCIS on August 20, they said nothing's been sent out yet. How worried should I be here?

Put in a service request .  For us, it took 3 separate requests until they took action. After 116 days we finally got the appointment.   Immediately after the appointment the i485 updated to ready to schedule interview

YMMV

What did they respond to your first and second request? I put in one last month and the reply was "we are not able to provide you the completion date". Not sure if my request was entered correctly..

Received RFIE... it's for tax return... I provided tax transcripts on the I-864 for the last 3 years filed (2017, 2016, 2015), however I have not yet filed my 2018 taxes (applied for and received an extension).

I wondered about this when filling out the 864... "the most recent tax year" I guess is not open to interpretation... to *me* "most recent tax year" is 2017, the last year that I filed.  I guess they want my finished return in hand.

Any advice on this? Seems like the best option is to just finish my taxes, file them, and then submit my finished 2018 1040 after I've filed. Or could I explain that I have an extension?

I've filed an amended return so send in the original 2018 tax return and then you'll add the amended return. If there were any taxes owed and paid off, you can add that in too if you want, I did. If you also have the completed part, add that in too but even right now I don't have it because I got another letter in the mail saying my amended return will have to be looked over manually and carefully spot anything so once it get completed they'll send me the completed form unless I'm wrong on this part.

You'll also do the extension part, add the extension letter and the completed form.

To be clear: 2018 taxes have not been filed yet. Nothing will be owed, so no back taxes as an issue, no amended filing.

But, based on what you said I think what I will do is:

1 - finish and file my 2018 taxes

2 - reply to RFIE with complete copy of 1040 (including W4s and 1099s)

3 - also include a copy of the extension form (I will, in addition, print a screenshot of my IRS account online - it has a big note on the homepage that I have been granted an extension).

“Most current tax year” is all they asked for, so that’s all I’m going to send. There was no request about income level so I’m not going to do paystubs.

I knew this was a possibility so when we got the email notification that an RFIE was coming I ordered my 2018 tax account record (or whatever it’s called - it’s not the tax transcript because taxes aren’t filed yet). If that arrives in time I will include that as well.

Anything I’m missing?

Any idea what it might be for?  It's great to know you've had progress on your case.  You and @bigjuniper have similar NOA dates so looks like things are moving.  Silver lining! :)

Well fingerprints are done.  So far no RFE/RFIE even though I predicted there would be since I didn't realize some of the stuff I sent wasn't exactly right (tax documents, forgot USC birth certificate for the I-864)

He got his state ID before his I-94 expired so now we just need to go in and renew it with the I-797C.  Kind of glad Georgia actually has some was of keeping state ID/driver's license active for longer than just the I-94 time period (even if it is only around 4 months)

No idea at all. Is about Initial evidence not about Additional evidence. So is something we are missing in the original packet.

We made a copy of everything we sent to know what were sending in case we forget with time and we don’t have a clue of what it can be.

Hopefully the letter will arrive soon and we will know. Looking forward is something easy.

Our state ID follows I-94 expiration. It'd a bummer.
