We received text messages about an hour ago. I then checked online with the case number, everything was inputted in the system on the 12 of July and the check wasn’t noted until August 5. So based on everyone else, we should have fingerprints soon. I hope we haven’t missed it because of the cashier’s check.

You shouldn't have an issue with biometrics if you haven't gotten the NOA letter in mail yet.  Biometrics letter comes soon after that.

I’m glad that a lot people got their cases moving. Hopefully we get that plastic card named “Green Card” before the year ends. Hopefully🤔

So some good news. My wife got her ssn delivered after 3 weeks after filing. We also found out that she can pay for car insurance and be under mine which would allow her to legally drive my car. In theory her foreign driver license is valid for 6 months after entering the country, and plus the insurance it's ok to drive.

Thought I'd share that info in case it's helpful for other people that have been wondering about driver license and what not.

Nice!  In California my foreign license was only valid to use for 10 days after entering the US.

here is a reference link to cali dmv website. I believe 10 days to apply for DL but 30 days for you to be able to drive with your home country DL.

Yes. I'm still waiting on uscis to notify me about AOs and EAD. We went to file for her ssn after getting married and before filing AOs and EAD.

Funny, you ask this, because we got the Bio and the SSN the same date in the mail so we doble dip. LOL!

I don't see anything about being able to drive for 30 days  (non-military) in the link.  Am I missing it?   In California, a K-1 being able to apply for a regular license without EAD or GC is not possible.  We can, however, apply for the AB-60. Though the current wait time for DMV office appointments in LA is about 3 months out.

We filed on 07/15 and got our biometrics appointment letter on 08/05. Appointment is set for 08/15. Stoked that things are moving along. Double stoked to see that USCIS has dropped the EAD processing times at NBC so significantly... but we are in a super crappy situation living on only my income where we may need to lose our apartment that we love and move in with my parents while we ride this out. Lucky to have their support but this is all so defeating and we're only a month in. How are other people dealing with and life-planning around these totally unknown timelines and not being able to work? Looking for inspiration.

I get you. We have pretty similar timelines. We live in NYC which is really expensive having only one income. We live in a pretty small studio apartment and sometimes is hard to find place for ourselves in it. What is really helping me right now is that I started volunteer in a dog shelter and in a library. It gives me something to do while my husband goes to work. I highly recommend. I was really struggling not having a rutine and a job and that is really helping putting my energy somewhere and not be stress, grumpy, depressed, etc etc about this process.

Its crazy, lucky we don’t live in an expensive are like NY or CA. I was ok just working my 8 regular hours since I brought my wife I have to do at least 10 hours of overtime to breathe. I will get a raise by April I will hold the fort while she can work😅
