Are you adjusting from K1?

Where did you have your medical? Inside or outside the US? When was your medical (Nov 2018?) When did you file for AOS?

If your medical was outside the US, there's no way your I-693 is expired because you never had an I-693. Foreign medicals use DS forms.

The rule is simple: Date of filing for AOS - Date of the foreign medical < 1 year = No new medical is required (as long as your vaccination sheet was completed).

2 years is the expiration date of 693 medicals done inside the US. If your medical was abroad, you don't have a 693, therefore your medical is still valid if you filed for AOS within 1 year.

Of course no one wants to play with USCIS, but I wouldn't do a new medical when I'm not required.

@Ayrton where can I find these on the USCIS webpage?

Also found that it actually say, that if the form was done before Nov 2018, they can actually ask for it. But at the same time says if you did the exams overseas under k1 visa, there's no need to perform the 693.

Tried to call the USCIS 1-800 number but it is impossible to reach someone, a machine just forces you to deal with her. Called the DHS phone number from the NYC facility, where the notice came from and no one is picking up eather.

1 week later I still don't have an appointment, I need to be sure I have to undergo a full medical examination again, and if so. If I can mail it to the DHS office instead of waitting the never re-scheduling of my interview appointment. 😭

I feel frustrated, I don't get why I'm asked these and you all guys weren't. Are your overseas medical examinations dated 2019? Mine was done in 2018.

You would usually take a copy of the DS-3025 to the interview unless they Interview Letter says you need an I-693.  At least that is what we see here in Phoenix.

Try the "Ask Emma" on the USCIS website.   It is hit or miss.  Just put in "representative".   If a tier 2 is available you should be able to get into a queue.   I've also had people enter "technical problem" to get help.

Worse case is you do the medical after the interview.  It doesn't really slow it down.

Ask Emma is really been hit or miss since COVID.  I think she's super busy. (Err not enough live agents)  Try it during business hours a few different times.

The rule from Nov 2018 only affects medicals done inside the US, that use I-693. It doesn't mention anything for K1 medical.

My IO at my interview also asked for a medical, and I reminded him that I didn't need one. He just said okay and I was approved the next day.

Thanks for the insight, that was a doubt I had by reading the info in the USCIS website.

Then I will not do the medical examination, just try to double check with a tire2 if I can reach one, just in case and if they want me to perform it anyways will then do it after the interview.

Did you receive a letter before the interview asking you to do the exams?

No, I didn't. The IO asked at the interview.

Make sure to print the Instructions, and ask them to check with a supervisor.

Seattle here. Still waiting for the green card interview. Just wanted to say I re-applied for Combo card (EAD AP) on Aug 15th, and I received the card. I think this was fast haha.

We're still waiting on the GC too and we've had our interview. How much was it to reapply. The EAD card expires next month. :(

It was free! Took 1 month to get notice receipt number, took 1.5 months since receipt notice to get the card.

Thank you. I assume we should do this since we don't have the GC in hand.

Hey guys,

If you had to apply for EAD renewal, where do you find the information for renewal without a fee? We had our GC interview, all went well, redid the medical, sent it in by the Oct 7, was received on October 13 but haven't heard anything. The EAD expires on 12/19.
