Oh my god, I am SO happy to finally find a site where I can TALK to people about this, without having to try and decipher lawyer terms.

Hello, I'm an Australian. Married my man here in Queensland last year in July. Took him till December to finally file it though in Texas x.X Apparently it's a big secret too because he wont tell me any information unless I ask him for it, and since I dont know what to ask him, I have no information. bah! men :P hehe

Of course, that hasn't helped my frustration. Only last week I found out about K-3. It got my hopes up a lot, and his, but I dont think its the savior it's made out to be. It doesn't help that 'information' sites about visas leave out about 70% of the information... like medical and police reports, affidavits of support, fees for said reports (if you dont know you need these forms, why would you want to know the price? Argh!)

These sort of things I would like to know. If I can only get my medical done in Sydney, I would like to know. Plane flights and money all have to taken into account (I live 2 hrs drive from the closest city, let alone capital :wacko: )

Anyway, nice way to introduce myself, a Hi with a rant :) Nice to finally find a place I can get REAL information that I can understand without needing a degree in Lawyer Speak :P

The Beginning

September 29th, 1999 - 'hooked' up with Dave after chatting with him for about a year online.

October 23rd, 2004 - September 29th, 5 years to the day, he proposed to me =D

July 23rd, 2005 - Dave comes over for the wedding on July 27th at the beach :)

Sometime in December, he sends off I-130 to Texas and promptly leaves me in the dark like a mushroom x.X...

The Saga Continues *dumdeduuummm*

August - phone NVC. intriguing :\ Phoned again, ah hah! the truth... no record of us >< losers... Go and visit Dave for 3 months...

End of January, we sent the petition back in again. 2 weeks later, we actually get a number in our hot little hands.

April 5th - NOA2 approved!

April sometime, received and sent back Choice of Agent

May 18th - Received IV Bill

May 28th - Sent IV Bill MO back

June 11th - DS-230 generated

July 12th - Received and sent back DS-230 packet

July 19th - NVC Sent Husband checklist of AoS. They forgot to fill in N/A fills with.... N/A x.X

July 23rd - DS-230 entered

July 26th - NVC received checklist regarding financial suppliment (ie, got a talking to on the phone :P)

August 1st - sent financial papers back

August 3rd - (Automatic msg) Financial records lacking! ARGH!~

August 7th - Received actual fixed paperwork - 'processing'

August 17th - NVC COMPLETED CASE!~

September 10th - Received packet 3

September 17th - Medical in Brisbane

November 14th - Interview VISA GRANTED

December 8th - Landed in USA

December 24th - GreenCard Arrives

K-1/K-2 VISA'S APPROVED IN MONTREAL MAY 2, 2005

K-1/K-2 AOS APPROVED IN ATLANTA MAY 17, 2006

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

2-11-2005 Flew back to Sydney. Many tears!

5-11-2005 Began visa journey.

7-12-2005 NOA1 dated the 5-12-2005.

..................Interview went well, just waiting on Criminal History checks to post back with that envelopee and passport to get visa.

5-6-2006 Received Criminal History Check in the mail and posted off back to consulate with passport etc hoping for it's return with visa in two weeks.

14-6-2006 Passport and visa recieved in mail. Visa issued the 13th.

24-6-2006 USA here I come

26-7-2006 Received Social Security Card in less than 5 working days after applying.

Visa Journey ("VJ") seems to be the place where all the "know how" is, regarding immigrant information.

I hope you can find all the help you need right here.

So, are you really going from "down under" to "down there" (Arkansas)?

If so, you'all got a-lot-a learnin' to do regardin' the way we'all talk down here in Arkensaw.

hehe, I've been to Arkansas a few times, and I do know, and have been, to... Australian Way? Life? Some aussie store out in the middle of whoopwhoop there owned by an aussie.

And Arkansas should be renamed Arkiesaw anyway hehe

I'm finding a LOT of information right now, been reading the aussie link StelleR mentioned. Medical guys, police reports, when to get them done.

I'm just getting worried now because I haven't heard anything yet, and husband hasn't told me jack either x.X and I wont be able to talk to him for another 2 days. The suspence, it kills ><

WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Im not alone any more hahahahahaha I have another CR-1'er :dance::dance: You do realise we are a rare species amongst aussies doing DCF, K-3 and K-1. Shame you filed already....you could of looked at the DCF process. Im not complaining......I have a buddy now :D
