OH I asked if do I need to wait for our case to arrive at the embassy first before I can pay the fee, book appointment, do the medical, etc.😅

oh and I just read something; so I need to fill up the DS-160 (which is the application form for a visa, correct?) and I read I need to fill up a DS-260 for the medical clearance. Is that right?

since yours is in transit ,, it will reach embassy in 2-3 days..so you are good to fill ds 160..and book appointments..

ds 160 is the visa form ,, correct...

NO , you dont have to fill ds 260..you read it wrong,, please read again.. its not for medical clearance...its a visa form for immigration visas..

Hi,

Congrats on getting your passport and visa!😁

Does this mean you proceeded to pay the fee and book the appointment with just your NVC case number? no Invoice ID number?

I've been trying to find mine because when I try to move forward with the process I keep getting "input invoice ID number give to you by NVC"

Our NVC letter/email only had our case number and saying that our case is on it's way to the embassy.

Invoice ID should be the number on your payment receipt? you would have to file i160 first, then you would get the payment notes. after you complete payment, you would find a very long number on it. that number is required when booking for interview.

at least that is how it work here in Taiwan.

i must say after reading thru VJ, you would find every embassy does K1 visa differently...

at least that is how it work here in Taiwan. (I did experience that in the process but for my tourist visa)

yeah, I agree. It seems that way. Have you at any point contacted the embassy directly for help and/or clarification on the steps?

I just emailed the HK support email then I realized I haven't read anyone here who has contacted the embassy directly for any help on the process. is that not allowed? would you or anyone here know?

Oh good! whew! yeah the auto reply email also said might take them 1-2 days. at least I'm not the only one. whew!

That's another thing I'm worried about, some of the documents they require  might not arrive in time for my interview. 😰 So I take it they allowed to adjust your interview date in time for your medical results to come in?

in Taiwan, the AIT allows you to adjust interview date for a limited number of times. if you were to change it for too many times, there would be some extra charges.

Whaaat? NVC just sent it yesterday

Sometimes the CEAC status updates when the electronic record gets there, not when the physical copy does.

Unless things have changed since January, Moscow won't do anything until the physical copy gets there.

Question for you. Did you guys have an actual wedding or did you go through the Town Hall? My fiancee is paranoid telling the officer at the interview about getting married at the Town hall due to time & money.

We had a civil ceremony at the county clerk's office (that's who does civil weddings in California) a few days after POE with my parents as witnesses (we wanted to get married quickly so she could get on my health insurance and we could start AOS), and then a few months later had a ceremony in Florida with my family.
