Why does she need a tourist visa. UK is a visa waiver country.

She’s a Filipino citizen on a UK work visa. It’s a weird situation but she’s been in the UK for months and had lots of proof ties to the country (job, rental lease, etc.). They didn’t ask for any of it.

When I had my tourist visa interview  they also didn't saw any of the papers i brought with me. They are more interested on what they already have on their computer (Which is the form you fill online prior to the interview).

I would have expected a tourist visa to be refused when a K1 is on process.   Your K1 visa will eventually arrive 🙌. Lets all be patient (I unclude myself on it because I am also waiting 😞).

The tourist visa will be canceled either when the K-1 is issued or you reach your POE here in the states and the Immigration Officer will cancel it.

Once the K1 is ISSUED then the Tourist Visa will be canceled. If they don't cancel it then it will be canceled at your POE.

I know they will cancel it at the embassy when  they issue the K1 visa (If all goes alright). But I've read I can travel with my tourist visa meanwhile  I  don't have my interview at the embassy yet, so I will travel Nov 23rd  for a week .  My NOA2 may arrive the first week of dec 🤞 🤞 ( fingers crossed)

Sure you can travel with your tourist Visa pending the time you await your NOA2.

I Just arrived from a 3weeks visit to see my fiance in the U.S & no issues @ all at the POE.

Although, I've also read some have been refused going into the U.S as the immigration officer thinks they'll be tempted not to return back.

@Greenbaum pls what do u think is the implication of not returning back if one visits a fiance and gets an approval while on the visit.

I read on the spousal thread about a couple whose wife got their NOA2  approval while she was on a visit to her husband in the U.S.

They mailed the embassy in U.S saying they've gotten their NOA2 and will like to continue processing from the U.S since she's already in.

They got a positive response and she didn't have to return back to her country.

Whats your opinion on that?

I am not that familiar with CR-1's so it is hard to pinpoint if that is accurate and if it can be done. Would love to have the link to where this was discussed.

I have my opinion that it can't be done with a K-1. You may want to post this on the main thread for others who may have a more knowledgably answer for you.

Guessed as much it won't be possible to do same for a K1 application since they're yet to be married.

Speaking of the spousal application of the couple who did such, the wife is my friend and I'm 100% sure that's what they did.

Day 114, we are both at our wits end. If we don't hear anything by the end of the month, we are considering getting married there and just doing a CR1/2

Do you realize that a CR-1 is taking just about as long as a K-1. Seems foolish to me but it's not my decision.

I am thinking I had an approved I-129F, December 2017, that didn't work out. Maybe they are waiting for the 2 year anniversary to arrive before they process it. I did send a waiver.
