Just a tidbit of information for you all. Before your beneficary leaves their respective  countries make double sure they bring EXTRA copies of their  birth certificates with them as you will need  many here my wife brought 6 copies all certified, very wise thing to do. Additionally if they are on any regular medication I would have them bring at least a 60  day supply as it takes awhile to get things rolling here 90 days is preferable.

Certified as in originals that you pay for, or just copies of the original?

If you are filing for your fiancee in China, and he or she will use the US China Embassy for the interview, you should change your profile to reflect China as your country not Nigeria. We use that bit of information to help you when we are not sure of your embassy as each embassy instructions and requirements are not the same with all embassy's.

Guess you've quoted the wrong person.

You should have at least a couple of originals the rest you can copy from the originals. Remember each state here is different they all require different things.

I was faced with that same dilemma , we decided to suck it up and wait. I'm glad I did looking back now, as I had to drop a great deal more money later than what I had planned. I knew about the AOS fee of 1225.00, but there were other incidentals I had to fork over for.

May not work for you but sucking it up is hard to do, but saving your money especially when you are on a budget is better.

Yeah we’ve decided to wait also. There’s a good chance she’ll get her visa before the end of the year. But there’s some things we decided to take care of before she travels here. I’m also going there to travel back with her. So we’ve decided early April is a good time. Hard to wait when we don’t absolutely have to , but in the long run it will be beneficial financially

We’ve given up on the hope of having the visa by Christmas so we applied for a B2 and my fiancée has an interview in 2 weeks for it. Wish we could buy a ticket now though as they’re already over $1K :(

B2 that's visitor visa correct? If that's the case very difficult to get those especially  from the Philippines. You have already  showed immigration intent as you have an active K1. I'm not positive but I wish you success.

My fiancée is in the U.K. currently but from the Philippines originally. She’s in the U.K. on a work visa.

UK. She has a job and residence there. I’ve already confirmed with USCIS that they have the address correct and that the embassy location is different from her passport.

it’s a unique situation as she had plans to move there before we met and got engaged. At least it lets us see each other more often, usually once a month.

Is she planning on returning to the Phil to see family after she has her visa before she is on her way to the US?  If so there is some additional things she will need to do in the Phil before leaving the country for the US.

Also, your profile should reflect the embassy that you will be interviewing at not the nationality of the beneficiary. Please change so we can reply with answers to your questions and or provide additional information that will seeing that each embassy is different.

Fixed the profile. And no, she has no plans to visit the Philippines until we're married and she has her green card.
