Congrats with starting this journey! We sent our petition very close to your day - August 17. Still waiting for the NOA1.

 

As to your credit card been charged, it looks good to me. From what I read on this forum they charge the card / cash the check and then send NOA1 (but sometimes it could be vice versa). You should expect to receive NOA1 within a few coming days.

Uncle Sam making sure my credit card is good until the send out my NOA through text or e-mail lol. I hope it comes today though if not hopefully tomorrow. It will sure make my week better.

All the little steps on the journey do help and uncle sam getting his money is a good start.  I hope you see the Noa1 very soon

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

 

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

 

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

 

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

If it is not a NOID, Denial, RFE or 221(g) should not be required to ask the question "should I be concerned". Those forms come with a dark cloud. So remember this tip and you would be so stressed out. This has a process and if you never picked up the phone, emailed or looked a one of their websites, I can guarantee you will still get your visa. But if you want to be the nervous one then hey have at.

 

BTW - The PSA in the Philippines is notorious for misspellings and missing information on birth certificates. You should look over your BC to make sure everything is correct as well as your passport. Now is the time to get that corrected. You might want to get a copy of your NBI to see if there are any problems with it. Again, now is a better time to get it corrected if you find something wrong. Be sure to use all your AKA's when they do the search. Make sure your passport doesn't expire any time before a year from now as this is a long process and you could be running around getting a new one at the last minute. So get it renewed if it is expiring in 2019.

 

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

You can check it from the text as long as you have your WAC# You don't have to wait for the paper form, but since you just got the text it might take a little bit to appear online. 

My text date ended up being my NOA1 date, and I checked it online before I got my paper.

Mine did but give it until you get the NOA in the mail

So our case status went from saying they received it to saying they updated our name on our petition, I can't find too much information as to why it would be updated. 

We both have never changed our names or gone by any other ones. Any ideas?

Which one is the official NOA 1 date? When they text us, the day USCIS received the petition (when courier delivers it), or something else?

I’ve read on other threads that it says that right before your NOA2. Idk how long it will say that for though.
