I’ve been calling, and each time they just tell me I don’t have a case number yet. Then the woman I spoke to today (and about a week ago) said the case is in administrative processing, but couldn’t explain what this meant. I’ve never heard AP used when no case number has even been assigned.

Hello friends, please help me as I’m confused. We have submitted I-864 (my daughter) and added household member I-864A (my mother) as extra income cause we thought my daughters income wasn’t sufficient enough. Today I’ve received email that all documents were accepted and household member I-864A was rejected.  NVC responds saying we need to add my mother as joint sponsor, which is a new I-864 form. BUT, my question is if my daughter was accepted then do I need to submit extra joint sponsor or leave it empty? Should I call NVC? How do I know if everything is great and that it’s case complete? Please help if anyone has any similar issues , it’s giving me anxiety!! :(

I am worried that if I submit new documents that I will have to wait another 3 weeks for them to review!! Ughhh Any help I get I would be grateful. 🙏🏼

I had a similar situation last week when NVC accepted all other financial/civil documents we submitted and rejected the i-864Ez form my wife (my sponsor) submitted. They said she was not qualified to use that form. We think it's because 2 of my wife's last 3 years total income was lower than required.. So we added her mother as a Household member and submitted her financial documents, e.g 3years tax return and 3years W2s, including the i-1864A form while my wife resubmitted a i-1864 form. We hope and pray, NVC accepts them this time, as we wait for a review. We really hope we have submitted the correct documents this time, so that we can get C.C and move on to the next stage of the process, without any more delays. We also hope that mother-in-law was supposed to be added a Household member and not a Joint sponsor. And to answer your question: I don't think it is advisable to call the NVC for this. It may take a long time to hear from them and you don't want any delays. So I advise you read through the link below, to know exactly what forms you need to submit. Endeavor to let us know how it went, after you resubmit and hear back from them. I wish you the best.

Oh no so sorry to hear that!! Sometimes they make their own rules I think and give people anxiety for no reason. USCIS website is not always clear on the whole process. It’s sad for people that can’t afford a good lawyer! After being on the phone for over an hour they asked me to remove the household member and add them as s joint sponsor. I’m confused on how to remove her as there’s no option? If you know how to resolve this please help? :(  I’m hoping for all of us this time that it’s the correct way and no more delays cause god knows we want to unite with our loved ones! Thank you for replying!

You should log-in to your account on ceac and click in the household member's name, then work your way around it to see if it can be deleted; then you can replace it. But I've got to ask: why did NVC reject the household member's i-864A form in the first place? They must have left a message. I just hope we don't experience the same thing, because the household member added to my case, is my wife's mother and my wife's the sponsor. I hope and pray that we don't get asked to do the same they have asked you to do. Let us know how it goes, okay?
