You are extremely lucky. I am doing electronic processing through CEAC as are most people here. It takes 3 weeks to a month. I wish it didn't, but it is... Mind you my wife was 23 weeks pregnant at the start of the NVC process, now she is 31 weeks. We have given up all hope things will get processed by the NVC in time for her to enter the US to give birth. We even have the expedite approved for the NVC to send the case straight to the embassy after they look at ONE W2 form. ONE W2!!!!

Hi All,

Just want to share the good news. Finally, received mail from NVC that all my documents are qualified. Alhamdullilah. I am soo happy to see this today early morning.

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.

Now, I would just like to know how much time does it take for an interview date to be scheduled after DQ. And hope this means now the case is completed right?

Congratulations and Wishing you the very best!!

That sounds strange to me on how they check the cases. I thought its a queue basis as it should be but they might have some other format of looking the cases may be based on country or something. I am applying from UAE

anyways I pray things turn out fast for both of you and ur wife is with u soon

Anyone get their case number assigned recently? If so, when was your case received from USCIS and when was your case number assigned?

My file reached NVC on June 19, but no case number yet. As of last Monday, it said they were working on cases from June 17. Hoping to hear something soon.

They were working on cases from June 17th with a case number as of last Monday. Meaning that statistic you are using won't tell you when they assign a case number, it's for people who have submitted documents to the NVC. It took me 3 weeks from when the case arrived at the NVC. It can take longer as well, some people have reported 2 months. I can't remember if it was 6 weeks or 8 weeks for normal processing, but if it takes that long you can send an inquiry to the NVC and they will get a case number assigned.

Oh, I think I misunderstood the metric on their website then. It’s confusing that it’s under case file creation? Are you positive that’s only for working on cases with NVC docs submitted? If so, I’ve been thinking about this all wrong!

I’ve called in a few times and sent a email inquiry to NVC — no case number.

Thanks!

There are two different estimates. One for case creation and another for review of documents. I am also waiting for my case number but my case wasn’t received until June 26th so if you still haven’t got yours that means it isn’t looking to good for me. I called this morning and they said they cannot see the website estimate and that it can be up to 8 weeks from the date they received it.
