Hey guys,

I post our case update in every month's forum so here we go again:

PD: 03 May 2018

CC: 01 Feb 2019

Type: CR1

Embassy: Mumbai

Status:

  • Waiting on IL - NVC won't explain why cases after ours have received CC and we have not
  • Expedited by ourselves - Denied
  • Expedited by our Senator - Denied
  • Outreach by our Congressman - NVC responded to them mentioning that our case was complete and was in line to be scheduled. Didn't explain why cases after ours have received CC and we have not
  • Inquiry sent to NVC requesting Embassy change from Mumbai to Singapore 4 weeks ago ( I live and work in Singapore) - NVC 'missed' our request and accepted it was their oversight. Asked us to resubmit. We resubmitted 2 weeks ago - Now waiting for their response.

This has been literal hell.

Update: Our case finally got moved to Singapore. Phew!

Is anyone waiting for a Singapore interview here? I doubt I have seen anyone over the past couple of threads...

Congrats. Do you know why it took so long?

Why they took so long to move our case? Well, the first time they just "missed" our request so we had to resubmit. It then took them around 2 weeks to reply to that.

However, we still don't know why we were not scheduled for an Interview at Mumbai even though our CC was completed on Feb 1. Here's hoping that things move faster with Singapore.

They may have some issues with their docs and even they r DQ ..there could be issue of their own..

DQ MEANS DQ. EVERY EMBASSY has thier own waiting period my embassy is 2-3 months .. some are less .. mexico can take up to a year to get an interview. It depends on how busy your embassy. Background checks are done at I130 stage. If anything is found that makes you ineligible...you'll be denied.  . Plain and simple put it's a matter of how busy your embassy is and it being summer you can bet some are really busy.. the fact that litterally most embassy are understaffed and are unable to keep up has alot to do it with it also.. I'd say of it's over 90 days you need to contact NVC, ask for a supervisor, if you don't feel satisfied by thier answer contact your senators office and see what they can do. Also make an inquiry at the embassy.. but keep doing those things until you get the answers your looking for. Sitting here guessing is just going to drive you crazy.  Hope that helps.

Quick question pls ...For those of u that filed for more than 1 person for the i30... did u combine the fees on 1 cheque or each 1 with its own cheque (asking for sm1)

For I130 each petition requires 550...but at NVC they only ask for 1 AOS fees of 120  and 325 for each petition..

I think the question is if a cheque totalling $1650 can be sent for all petitions.
