Case Complete to Interview August 2019

Hi folks,

 

I’m so relieved that my husband’s passport came back today with his IR-1 visa from the Consulate!! He can fly back to the state with us, yay!!

 

I can’t believe how fast the Consulate responded to our additional proofs of my US domicile. They received our documents last Friday around 4pm local time and they approved the visa on the same day. July 1 is a local holiday and they mailed back his passport on July 2 then we received it today (July 3).

 

Thank you all VJ members who have helped me throughout this long process and wish everyone who are still waiting for a visa on hand will get it soon!

GEEZ thank goodness. I hope we'll be on the next round. As of last Thursday, we've been waiting 2 months since DC X_X

Fill out your timeline, please. For us Canadians doing the CR1/IR1, there aren't a lot of us who are current on this website. It gives us useful information and will help a lot of us out. Thanks!

Yes. NVC dies the schelduing but the embassy releases the dates available. My opinion is if it's truly first come first serve. When your case is complete you should be allowed to schedule yourself. Jmo.

dates provided by the embassy but scheduled and handled by NVC.

what i judge from the whole process is.. its at this stage when NVC does background cheks also like name chek, criminal record etc through fbi etc., they dont disclose it, but surely do all this at some stage. as after cc interview is quite near so its better and practical to do at this stage rather than to do at i130 stage.

spot on. That is why I think some cases take longer.

I highly doubted...cuz I-130 cannot be approved without any background check and embassy don’t approve anything without any checks either...so the background check in between don’t make any sense

I agree with you. Plus, after interview at embassy and people get AP status... I think this is the stage when embassy do further background checks. I am not saying all AP but some. Specially for applicants from hugh fraud countries.

Ok, then why some cases are getting stuck for a longer time?

They may have some issues with their docs and even they r DQ ..there could be issue of their own..

It could be...giving IL to someone even after CC is something NVC should know better...we r all just giving our opinions...just like Tea party...I hope everybody who’s waiting for IL should get it soon
