Well I just looked at a spreadsheet that was started for the service center in Nebraska, where my I751 was sent. Folks who applied for their 10 year in December of 2018 have only received their biometrics letter THIS JULY! So tired of all of this. So, some of you that have received your biometrics letter a little after 30 days, be grateful!

Just relax. Getting your biometrics letter early doesn't mean you'll get approved early.

Actually, since biometrics expire after 15 months, to me it makes more sense to get your biometrics taken by the end of the process, when someone is looking at your case, rather than at the beginning, when your case will be put on a pile without being touched in over a year, with the risk of them expiring and having to take them again.

I do understand the system. I do know too that things can go wrong as I applied for change of status in December 2015 and did not have my interview until September 2017. Turns out that my case file was "lost". So, I more than most here know about long waits. However, because of government bureaucracy who are accountable to no one and therefore never do anything in reasonable way or in a timely manner, I was concerned about my biometrics letter coming to me before a long planned trip in September. Because of their ineptness, we have decided, to the disappointment of family members, to cancel the trip this morning, because I know I cannot afford to be away when the letter comes.  No one knows what someone else is experiencing and why they respond or react in the manner that they do, unless they know the entire 'story'. Okay? Also, I had my initial biometrics taken in January 2016 and they did not "expire" even when my interview was not until Sept 2017.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I have looked at other threads from 2018 and some are having to do bio-metrics for a 2nd time for ROC because they expire. This process is long, so get ready to wait...wait...and wait a little more.

Well, then my initial biometrics must have 'expired' since it was 20 months from having them done, to my interview. I was not asked to do another one in that time period.

Good for you. Doesn't mean it is the same for everyone.

I am just referring to what you said about having to do the biometrics again because they expire. I was talking about my individual situation to let you know that your reference does not apply to everyone. Geesh.

The timeline for Nebraska service centers is much longer than other service centers, unfortunately. If you have not received anything after 30 days you can ask. Some folks in Nebraska did not need the biometrics again. I did read about a guy who said he did not hear anything for a long time regarding his biometric appt. When he got called, he was told that the second set of biometrics was not needed. Perhaps you will be as fortunate.

Thank you so much for answering, but do you have any idea how long does Nebraska take to process cases?!

I just checked. For the I751 Nebraska is showing 14.5 months to 24 months.
