Our status update:

Sent package to Phoenix, Arizona on Monday, July 22nd by priority mail.

Arrived by tracking USPS on Wednesday, July 24th to Phoenix.

Received a text message from USCIS on Tuesday, July 30th at 4:42PM with our receipt notice number.

Same day, Tuesday, July 30th our check was cashed.

Today, Friday, August 2nd, we received the 18-month extension letter!

In case anyone was confused like us, to track your case, go to "myuscis" website which is different then the previous one used to track our cases. Once you are logged in then you click on 'my account' in the upper right corner, and then select 'add a paper filed case'. Use your receipt number and it will now link for you to track.

Cheers!

Wow. Your appointment came fast for your biometrics. I am going away for a few weeks in another month. I guess I will have to get someone to check my mail and let me know if I get an appointment letter, so that i can call and change it if the appt. is when I am away.

Many people over the last 3 months of filers are having biometrics appts approx 5 weeks from the date of USCIS receiving their case, so we expected this to likely come this week! If you will be away during that approx 5 weeks window there is a high chance you will have to reschedule!!

On the biometrics form, there is a Request for Rescheduling section, on which you check off "Please Reschedule My Appointment", then mail the original letter (keep copy for yourself) to an address in Virginia listed on the letter. There is also a phone number listed, but I haven't found anything stating that you can reschedule with that phone number. Many people also have done walk-in appointments with their letter, GC and extension letter, passport etc in hand and complete biometrics early if they will be away during the scheduled time period with no problem.

Received biometrics appt. letter today as well, dated for 8/16/19.  Date of notice was 7/26/19.  Strange, as we only received biometrics letter for my stepdaughter and not my husband.  Wonder if it has anything to do with her age.  We originally filed for immigration before she became of age to do criminal background checks.

When did you receive your I-797?

Received the I-797 extension letter in the mail on 7/12/19.  Notice date was 7/11/19.  I received two notices, one for my husband and one for stepdaughter.  Same date information, etc. on both of them.  They do have different receipt numbers as she was listed as a dependent on the ROC form.  This is normal though.
