Congrats all who received NOA! What is the next status that should appear online on USCIS site? Now it’s: “we received the case, blablabla”.  Will we be able to see when a letter for fingerprints is mailed ( or waiver for fingerprints)?

I think that'll be the case, either scheduled appointment or waiver for biometric. I realize that it takes 3 weeks on average to receive the biometric appointment.

The status doesn't change when they mail you a biometrics letter, it only changes after you've done your biometrics.

Looks like we're back to checking our informed delivery/mail box (while praying)!

Is it possible to have both the biometrics AND interview waived? ie someone could be lucky and simply get their 10 year GC without doing anything after the NOA?

Or would they only waive part of the biometric and everyone still attends something?

I strongly believe that it is possible and the most popular outcome for the majority of applications! Plus based on the statistics here, on this site, I see it really happens...

Otherwise, why we send all that evidence, etc via mail, if they still have to interviewed everyone...

I have heard (On NO the dreaded rumor) that is if you had your AOS interview waived you must have a ROC interview, based on friends of ours some have had both interviews, some have had or or the other but not both interviews waived and ALL have had biometrics waived for the ROC and a reuse of AOS biometrics. The sample size is small (7 couples) so YMMV

I have another kind of rumor, we talked to an immigration lawyer, even though we filed the petition ourselves....We were told that they were requiring the ROC interviews if AOS was waived, but that it can go either way (possibly because of backlog), but to plan on having an interview, especially if you apply for naturalization.

when you get your appointment letter do we have to make an appointment with the ACS center or do we just walk in 10 min ahead of the time on that particular day and show up with the letter for biometrics?

thank u
