I know legally you are suppose to carry the green card, but my husband never did. He just carries his driver's license and leaves the green card at home. He was too scared of losing it, and I am sure not letting him carry a letter around since he has misplaced stuff before. He would only carry them if he really absolutely needed them like for starting a new job or international travel.

Outside of that, are people who got the NOA not able to even see their case online? I just get that the receipt number is not recognized. I am guessing it will be months before we here about bio-metrics since our case is with with the Texas Service Center.

Haha yeah i lose things all the time. I think I'm just gonna carry a copy of both the card/letter and just keep the original documents at home.

Regarding NOA online status, yes I'm able to see mine online. I added my U-751 case to the same USCIS account that I created for tracking my AOS receipts. This is the page I go for checking status: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Yay Potomac filers!! :D

bwahahaha Potomac is actually a really pretty town. I can just imagine myself driving around in Potomac on a Sunday afternoon daydreaming about living in one of those $5m+ ginormous mansions in another life lol

My case is also in Potomac YSC. Party time lol (and it's interesting that I live literally just 10min drive from Potomac haha. Potomac is very pretty)

Did you have to mail it across the country, only for it to return back 10 minutes from where you live haha

I already wondered in cases that are transferred, whether it is physically mailed forward, or if they somehow scan everything into a database? Can't imagine it would be fun to scan 100+ pages?

Mailed it with FedEx to Lewisville TX. Not exactly across the whole country but about half way - what a huge carbon footprint hahaha I'd hope it was digitally scanned for the transfer.

Doing well.

How's your application coming along?

I'm nervous and excited.

I just got my 18 months extension letter last Saturday and I am really hoping that my biometrics and interview will be waived. 😄

Current timeline:

July 2019 - filed I-751

August 2020 - filed N400

Sept. 2020 - i-751 status "Case Was Transferred to a New Office". Transferred to NBC.

April 12, 2021 - N400 interview in LA passed (with a pending i-751)

May 20, 2021 - I-751 status changed to Approved and N400 status changed to Oath Will Be Scheduled. 🤩

May 21, 2021 - received a call and email from USCIS Los Angeles with my NOA with my oath schedule.

May 28, 2021 - oath taking schedule in USCIS DTLA office. 😍

I have no idea how they operate ha, mine went from Florida to Dallas now to Potomac...

If you play around on this website it looks like Potomac is the fastest for I-751, not that I think it's very accurate.

Potomac shows 12.5 - 14 months

Nebraska is showing 14.5 - 24.5 months!

I have thought about this too because we live in the same city as the NBC, haha. We drive by it all the time.

Also, if they scan all the documents, there must be a machine that does it for you. I can't imagine a person having to feed 100 pages through and scan it all, but you never know!!

Maybe that's why it takes so long 😂 feeding all these pages into a scanner 1 by 1...

At my AOS interview I saw my folder that the officer had and it looked like it contained all the originals of everything I had submitted. I'd sure like to see how these guys operate

well that's surprising considering its in the DC area and things here are incredibly inefficient because its all government lol

i know right? hahaha thats a stable gov job though, probably with great benefits too. my coworkers and i were just joking about becoming bus drivers in DC cuz apparently they could get paid over $100k :o

Also yes I carry my green card everywhere in my wallet. I'll probably scan the extension letter and carry that around too. I don't want to risk not having it if anyone ever checked... As unlikely as that is

Cheque cashed two days ago. 18-month extension letter received yesterday. Waiting on Biometrics now. Can I just go in to one of the nearest centers and get my biometrics done when I receive the notice or do I have to go on the exact date as mentioned in the notice?

Good luck to everyone

Hi I am new to this thread,  have you gotten an answer yet?

I submitted my application to the Texas office as well last Monday and have not received a text message either. I called USCIS  and they told me that there is no information available yet because probably they have not opened my package yet. The lady told me that I would have to wait 30 days from the moment they received my package to hear an answer :(

No answers yet - its crazy.  Everybody else who submitted seems to have got a response.   Did you ask for any waivers too? Divorce? Abuse?
