I had my N400 interview today (in Denver) with same day oath ceremony and I'm now a US Citizen!

Officer was awesome and made it a fun experience

I had a pending I-751 so I my wife came with me but was not allowed into the building initially. When the officer called me the first thing he asked was if my wife was here, so I called her and he met her in the lobby and checked her in so we could take care of the I-751 first which just took a few minutes.

I did ask about the delay in I-751 processing and the office basically said these are the lowest priority cases as they don't affect your status while they are processing.

The biggest bit of advice I can give is - if you have an I-751 pending when you attend your N400 interview, always take your spouse and assume you will have a combo interview no matter what the interview notice says

Hang in there everyone, your time IS coming!

I was waiting for your post all day :) BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Can you please share more about questions for I 751 form? Same basic staff were asked or detailed questions? Thanks again!

That is awesome. Congratulations!!

One more question. Since you had the oath ceremony on the spot, did you have to know the pledge of allegiance ? if so, I need to practice it 😂

Thank you for keeping us updated.

Thanks :)

He asked if I had any additional documents to provide, and I handed over some extra mortgage and bank statements etc, but he said he has already reviewed my file and couldn't see any problems - honestly the I-751 was a formality.

No, the officer will guide you through that :)

20 months after applying for the ROC I was notified that my case was transferred to another office, which is disappointing because Potomac office was doing quite well approving July 2019 filers. I'll send another service request, nothing to lose.

Well, I am glad I received a notice now thru mail for my N-400 saying they are going to reuse my biometrics from my I-751. No change in my app status. Filing concurrently and still no word on my ROC. WAC filer but my case moved to NBC now due to N400.

Current timeline:

July 2019 - filed I-751

August 2020 - filed N400

Sept. 2020 - i-751 status "Case Was Transferred to a New Office". Transferred to NBC.

April 12, 2021 - N400 interview in LA passed (with a pending i-751)

May 20, 2021 - I-751 status changed to Approved and N400 status changed to Oath Will Be Scheduled. 🤩

May 21, 2021 - received a call and email from USCIS Los Angeles with my NOA with my oath schedule.

May 28, 2021 - oath taking schedule in USCIS DTLA office. 😍

My spouse came with me thinking it could possible be a combo interview, but he was not allowed to come inside. The IO didn’t even ask if he was there. My spouse waited for me in the parking lot. Some people on here have said that the IO asks for their spouse and to call them in. My advice , bring your spouse even if the notice letter doesn’t say to do so.

Hi all - long time lurker here but just wanted to share a data point.

Wife filed for I-751 in July 2019 (MSC) and online status has been showing ready for interview since Jan 22 2020. Biometrics were in late 2019. Filed N-400 in July 2020. 18-month extension letter soon to expire in March so tried to create an infopass appointment for a passport stamp. As soon as we put in a request, we got a notification regarding interview date (I doubt the request for infopass drove the interview date but it was just two days after so pretty interesting). I wonder if they will still schedule the infopass for the green card stamp. Interview date is for March end. Will be interesting to see if they make the interview a combo. Will share updates if I get more.

All the best to everyone!

Notification for N-400 Interview?

If that is the case, same thing happened to me, had the N-400 interview, was approved and they adjudicated the I751 on the same day. I didn’t have a combo interview, t the end of the N-400 interview I was told that I751 would be adjudicated and approved in a day or two.

If you are getting citizenship through marriage, your spouse will not be allowed inside due to covid restrictions and they’ll conduct the N-400 interview without your spouse .

That was my experience , Had my n-400 interview February 3rd and oath ceremony is Feb 18th.

Wanted to share my experience since your case sounds very similar to mine.

Good luck

Hi everyone!  It has been a while since I have gotten on VisaJourney.  Thought I would share an update.  Currently, we are still waiting for the I-751 interview to take place.  Case has been waiting for an interview to be scheduled since December 2019.  In July 2020 my husband went ahead and filed the N-400.  During this process, I found out that my stepdaughter could not file right then and there, since she turned 18 March 2020, and has to wait another two years for her to become eligible to file the N-400.  So, that kind of sucks, but it is what it is.  As of February 19th I saw a notice on our USCIS account that they will be reusing my husband's biometrics.  The estimated wait time of case completion for my husbands N-400 currently is showing October 2021.  8 months!  About a month ago it showed March or May, and now....October....so here we are.
