@MsGee That is great news and must be a big relief! I am eagerly awaiting my I-797...Me and my wife are supposed to close a home purchase next Friday, and our lender only just told us now that they need the extension letter. A stressful time for sure. Also, glad to see fellow Filipinos! (I am Filipino-Canadian, and my wife is Filipino-American).

@lloyd060 I hope you both get the NOA(extension letter) soon. Goodluck.

We are closing on our home next week and had the same issue. My lender was able to lift that requirement even though I didn't get the letter in the mail yet. I called uscis and asked for my receipt number and my lender was able to check my case status on the website. Realizing that it was a matter of time to get the receipt in the mail and along with all of our rest of paperwork for the loan being in order he requested to lift the restriction and we were approved today. We are on track for closing next Friday. Have a conversation with your lender and see if they're able to work something out. I'm also the one making the bigger salary out of the 2 of us and I thought they wouldnt risk it but it worked out.

will you guys apply for citizenship concurrent to removal of conditions or is that a bad idea?

You can’t apply for citizenship N-400 until you have both been married 3 years and a permanent resident for three years. They will reject concurrent N-400 on grounds of this. You can apply for N-400 once you meet citizenship criteria with a pending I-751 but not before! If you already knew this and I misunderstood your pose then my apologies!

@ihaveadream...hello we also filed last minute as long as USCIS received your ROC packet before the date your green card expires. You will be ok. Our's was received in Arizona July 9 my husband green card expires July 10. After 8 days we received via mail the NOA 18 months extension. Good Luck.

I understand that...however after almost 15 days now, they have clearly told me they don't have my file.  :(

Everyone on here seems to have got receipt numbers pretty soon... mine they were clear there is no record of anything.

Mine did go with waivers so maybe that's the reason and file weight was about 6 pounds.... to show proof for the waivers.

My wife’s green card expires next month so she will be applying for citizenship as soon as she can. 90 days prior to the 3 year mark would be May 2020. One more thing to get out of the way.

I don't think it's about the weight cuz our is also close to 6lbs. You have the tracking and the name of the person who received it right? Try calling again Monday and see, at least they shd have a record that they have your file.

Hi everyone,

We will be filing our I-751 this month and have some questions. We have evidence for joint tax filing transcripts, joint credit cards statements (me as authorized user), joint healthcare and automobile insurance, documents with spouse as primary beneficiary. We also have plenty of secondary evidence such as trips, photos, wedding expenses, and affidavits.

What we do not have is evidence on sharing financial responsibility. My husband and I have a joint banking account but it is not active. Since I make a lot less than he does, he pays all the utility bills, mortgage, insurance, and household expenses. The money in our personal accounts (mostly mine since I barely have any expenses) is being saved so that we can buy a house/car together. Should we explain this in our cover letter?

We also just realized that our phone company never put my name on the second line. Both phone numbers are under my husband's name. Should we still include phone bill statements?

I think the credit card statements should be enough, it'd be helpful if the statements say who purchased what (Capital one and Costco card, Citi bank do that, if you bank with them). I'd still submit statements from the joint account with the opening date and statements. Do you have a lease with both your names? Does your husband have a car? For my AOS, we added my name to the title  of the car at AAA, it's very easy and quick!

Hi everyone.  We filed our I-751 on July 9th and just got the 18 month extension letter in today's mail.  I guess biometrics come in 3 months and the interview in about 13 months.  I have really missed my friends at the USCIS.  🤠

Spoiler

I'd like some opinions friends!

I received my I797 dated for the beginning of July and on it, for those who have not yet received it, it says "if you have not already done so, provide supporting documents to assist USCIS in processing your petition and to establish eligibility to remove the conditional basis of your permanent residence. Please include a copy of this receipt notice with any supporting documents you submit." My husband and I sent a good amount of evidence and I feel confident in everything I sent however, we have never had any kind of benefits or insurance since I moved here and he just started a job that has benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, disability, 403B, and FSA accounts which he enrolled both of us in so all of the benefits list me as his spouse who is either active on the policy or the beneficiary and my job just started offering a 401K which I enrolled in and he is the beneficiary, all of the benefits become effective August 1st. I don't feel that my application will be denied without this information however, I was wondering if you guys think it would be beneficial for me to send it anyway (especially because my petition is freshly filed) or if I should just take it to the interview?

Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing good.

I am new in this thread, and decided to add my dates in case someone was as impatient as me.

We mailed out package last Saturday 07-13-19

Someone signed it as received Monday 07-15-19

And today (07-19-19) I received a text message that my case was received, my case number and they said my NOA should be in the mail soon.

Also almost forgot we filed in Arizona and we used a money order. Our package was about 4 inches tall, mostly bank statements, credit cards, taxes, affidavits, leases, paper work from our car, photographs, air plane tickets, his medical insurance with my name, dental insurance, life insurance, 401K, school paperwork, out car insurance,  and we added a section as IDs, you know copies of my green card, his passport, birth certificates, copies of our drivers licenses, etc.

Good luck to you all!

I mailed my application on 15th via USPS Priority, and it was signed at Arizona PO box the next day. My credit was charged just now 19th. No text/email notification, or mail just yet.
