Card in production for i-765! Hopefully it’s a combo card. :) It’s been a good week. First, interview was scheduled, and then this. Everything’s coming along now 🙏🏼 Hopefully all of us November 2018 filers receive good news before August ends.

YESS congratulations!!! That is awesome.

We had our GC interview on Wednesday and everything went well - the officer was very pleasant and all was pretty effortless. HOWEVER she asked us for 6 months off paystubs from my husband (USC) which we didn't have. I didn't see online anywhere that we would need these, and the interview letter said to bring paystubs "unless already submitted" - we already submitted some with our AOS package so I assumed we didn't need them.

Now maybe I'm the only one who didn't realize I needed paystubs but I was pretty thorough in my research and didn't see this anywhere, so it's just a little pointer to let people know - take 6 months worth of paystubs from your American partner!

I'm so glad to hear that your interview went well! Congratulations! Time to celebrate! 🎉

So, my husband (from the U.K.) and I (USC)  have our interview in Nashville next Thursday, August 29th. We have a joint sponsor for our AOS. Do you think I should I should still bring 6 months of pay stubs even though we have a joint sponsor? No worries if you aren't sure--I just figured it couldn't hurt to ask! 😊

I would honestly take more than what you think you need! Take 6 months paystubs from your sponsor, take paystubs from  your husbands job, even yours, too! I just so happened to take paystubs from my job (i've only been working for 6 weeks) and she asked me for them! It's not the end of the world if they ask you for something like that and you don't have it, as she just asked me to fax the paystubs through which I've done... BUT if you have everything they ask you for you won't have any delays.

I guess it depends on the interviewing officer. Some forum members have shared they handed nothing during interview. In our case, we decided what to give -the IO literally asked "What do you have for me?"-.

We brought everything but the kitchen sink. :PThere's no way to know if they will ask for something specific, so bring EVERYTHING.

Best of luck guys!

Thanks so much! Yes, I guess it's better to be safe than sorry! Our joint sponsor is in another state, so hopefully we can gather those pay stubs in time!

Thank you! Ahh, we have tons and tons of evidence, but I'm getting nervous. I'll see what additional evidence (pay stubs, etc) we can pull together. Hopefully we'll have enough across the board. 🤞😱

Hello,

My husband and I had our green card interview on Thursday, 8/22 in Newark, NJ.  We got there an hour early at 1215p and was told to come back no more than 30mins before the scheduled time. We went back at 1245p for our 115p interview. They called us in at approximately 140p and we were done by 150p. Once we got in to the USCIS officers office we stated the oath and sat down. We gave our IDs (passport and drivers license) along with our marriage certificate and both birth certificates. My husband had both pointer fingers scanned once more along with a facial scan. The officer then asked for joint documents and our lawyer also gave her a stack of photos (I printed far too many. There was about 150 photos that we brought with us). The officer skimmed through the photos asked about two and kept roughly 20-30. As she was going through the joint documents she asked my husband to state his full name, DOB, our current address and the questions listed on the AOS application (ie - have you ever been convicted, are you a terrorist, are you a spy, have you ever been arrested, etc). Once he finished answering the questions she handed us a print off stating that she will be approving his green card once the fingerprints came back. The next day on Friday, 8/23 we received notification that his green card was APPROVED the same day as our interview.

Joint documents we brought:

- health insurance

- car insurance

- bank statement & voided check (check wasn’t necessary just extra documentation)

- dental insurance

- cell phone bill

Other documents we brought:

- photos (~150 from when we first met to present)

- notarized letter from my parents stating we currently live with them (lawyer recommended but it is not a requirement)

- employment letter stating my current position, salary and that my husband is listed as my beneficiary

- paychecks

- 401k statement showing my husband as beneficiary

We brought at least 3 months worth of documents just in case, however, we only gave the USCIS officer one months worth of joint documents which was sufficient enough for our case. I recommend being over prepared because every officer is different and may require different documentation as proof of evidence.

Good luck to everyone on future interviews!

For those that have had their interview and were approved, how long did it take for you to officially receive the card in the mail? Of course my husband is anxious to travel back home and work but with all of our lovely experiences with Immigration I will not book anything in advance until I have that hard copy in hand!

Also, for those of you that have been "lost" in the group of filers as it relates to no update on EAD/AP at 270+ days, this was the response from USCIS regarding my SR submitted, basically just stating that due to issues within the facility our case is delayed:

The status of this service request is:

Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner.

I know, so contradicting with what they are stating.. I feel like it all depends on the luck of the month, maybe that month our applications were processed in some type of old software or were processed by employees that left, I truly don't understand how they can get away with just being okay with not giving a straight forward answer.
