Ha, yeah it doesn't hurt. I just get so hesitance touching anything with our cases after seeing what happened with the SR.. absolutely nothing but more waiting. So, hopefully it works for you! I guess anything at this point helps.. has there been any status change to your 485? Or, have your SR been assigned?

Aaaaahhhh, I just checked right now and to my (expected) disappointment, no, nothing changed. I-485s and SRs both. My mom’s advance parole SR was assigned to an officer last August 06 but it’s stuck at that and i-485s are stuck at “Case Received” since 11/27/18 lol.

I’m anxious to go through with this expedite process though because I’m not sure if I’ll receive just the work permit or i receive the travel permit along with it in combo card form. I’ll update once anything changes! :)

Sounds good! Likewise, I just submitted another SR on the I-131 as this SR was done 7/11, assigned to an officer 7/22 and then nothing. So, hopefully it doesn't screw me over with another waiting period but if it's "already" in this other queue then it doesn't hurt as a friendly reminder in my mind. The I-765 hasn't been assigned to anyone after submitting a SR on 7/24, but our I-485 changed this past weekend to Case is Ready to be scheduled for an interview. So, if we could bypass everything and just go to the interview that would be great as well.

Are you seeing service request updates on https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant website? My cases there hasn't updated since May 10th with my first RFIE, so I have no idea what's going on with my SR that my lawyer sent on July 31st.

11/12/2017 - Entered US on J1
10/18/2018 - Filed AOS at NBC
12/11/2018 - Biometrics
02/28/2019 - USCIS mailed RFIE on I485
05/09/2019 - USCIS received RFIE response
06/11/2019 - USCIS mailed another RFIE on I485
06/19/2019 - USCIS received 2nd RFIE response
07/24/2019 - I485 ready to schedule for interview
01/22/2020 - I485 interview (in San Jose instead of San Francisco)

FINALLY just finished prepping for GC interview. SO excited! Just wanted everything wrapped up before we leave the US next week for vacation. Can't wait to see my family, plus 60's/70's weather, rain (and everything else) - Vegas weather has been such a big adjustment to get used to LOL!

Interview has been scheduled for the I-485 here! I cannot wait to see when we can finally go and get this taken care of as our EAD/AP was completely bypassed. The amount of time it took for Case is ready to be scheduled and Interview scheduled was only 1 week, must just be due to the field office. For those that are waiting still this is what my Senator said that USCIS responded to him with:

I heard back from USCIS. I have included their response below:

“I-765/ I131

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records confirm that your constituent’s case is pending at this time.  USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely and efficient manner while also complying with all relevant directives.  While the processing steps for most applications or petitions are completed quickly, a small percentage of cases involve unresolved issues that may result in adjudication delays.

We are unable to determine at this time when the review process for the application will be completed.  USCIS will issue a decision on your constituent's case as soon as possible.

That’s great news! When will you be having your interview? How I wish the Chicago field office would be as quick as yours :( I’m giving up hope on our i-765 & i-131. Lol. Good luck on preparing for your interview!

Yes you are right! I’m glad we only had to wait a week for the scheduling but still disappointed in aspects of how the system worked with our EAD/AP. Just to say that there are a small percentage of people that basically don’t have a reason is not acceptable. I’m happy to see some light at the end of the tunnel! How long did it take users to get their interview date mailed after status change to interview scheduled?

Congratulations, by the way! It took about 5 days for our interview letter to arrive after we got notice that the date had been scheduled. Our interview is on Aug. 29th, so we're currently prepping as well and just making sure everything is in order. We also never received the EAD/AP, but the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight with the interview on the horizon!

Good things come in 3's. So I know you'll do fab with the 2 you've already mentioned...maybe do a scratch card/lottery too (to make it a 3). Good luck-you'll do wonderful. The drive test here is a breeze compared to the UK (I think having done it)

I hope so! I only have until the 25th of this month to drive on my UK license, so the pressure is on. I took my permit a couple of weeks ago and they allowed me to take my driving test there and then because they had some time, but I failed on the parallel park. Which is so frustrating because I was so good at parallel parking in England and I've been driving for like 15 years!

Rant over.

Thank you for your supportive words! Good luck with your GC interview, we've got this!

I just received an email from the USCIS saying “Interview Was Scheduled” for me and my mom’s i-485 application!!

My heart is still pounding and I couldn’t believe it with my own eyes that I asked my stepdad to read the email for me. I was trying so hard to have our work permit and travel permit expedited since I wanted to work and save up some money so that I can finish my last semester of college back in my home country but I guess the i-485 interview getting scheduled is better than getting the i-765 expedited.

Hopefully we receive our interview date soon and before late October! Our LFO is Chicago, though I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying for a late September-Early October interview date.

how long did you guys get an interview date after the “Interview Was Scheduled” notification?? please let me know. Thank you!
