Baltimore MD 2019 N-400 Filers

Hey Folks,

 

I haven't yet seen a thread specific to 2019 Baltimore field office filers. If it exists, moderators please delete this one and point me to the pre-existing.

 

Just filed today for my wife's citizenship. We filed online, based on marriage for over 3 years. She just received her 10-year Green Card this past week. We were about to file anyway, when we suddenly got notifications of her case approval and card production. Glad we waited a bit beyond her N400 eligibility; we weren't looking forward to potential additional delays with a dual filing, but we were willing.

 

With the info flowing about potential case dispersion going on, to improve application processing, I'm particularly interested in sharing statuses with others filing through the Baltimore FO this year.

Here is my husband's timeline for N-400. We just received the notification last week of the interview.  It took almost 1 year to get to this point.  Hope this helps.  Best wishes!   Citizenship

I see their processing times just increased again from 13 - 23 to 13 - 25 months

Our online case now shows September 2020 as our estimated timeframe.  A little hard to take when I've just seen that some March 2019 filers are recently being assigned interview dates in August. I'm happy for them; just wish the Baltimore office wasn't so backed up. Oh well...not gonna complain, just gonna keep hoping all goes smoothly. At the end of the day, we're grateful she has her 10yr card and we have a good life.

Well from experience watching field offices it varies greatly and online estimation tool is normally never correct.  Usually it’s much sooner.

 

My wife’s completion date is feb 2020 but time will tell if it’s sooner or not.  We were hoping get it all done before we deliver our second son in Sept but not looking good that will happen.

Yeah, they do vary greatly. My wife's brother is in Florida and his whole process, marriage through citizenship, took just over 3 years. We weren't interested in moving to speed up the process, though. LOL 

 

I'm going to believe the timeline will shift; just hoping it won't be any longer. We want to get it done and move on from all of the filings. Don't think it'll shift enough to happen before the birth of your child, but maybe a good way to bring in the New Year? Fingers crossed!

My online account shows an estimated completion date of December 2019.  My oath ceremony was 8 days ago.  🙄😆.  Baltimore has been averaging roughly 12 months from application to oath for the past year or so, and that might even improve now that they're transferring a portion of cases to other offices in an effort to reduce the backlog. 

 

I sympathize with the frustration of seeing applicants from Ohio and Indiana get interview dates when your own is nowhere in sight.  I just kept reminding myself that that could have been me - but then I'd have had to live in Ohio...  😄

We chanced a walk-in for biometrics today; she was scheduled for the 19th, but has to travel as her mother is having surgery. The estimated case completion time online has now changed from September 2020 to June 2020.
