Psychological testing K-1 visa interview

My fiancé mention that the medical exam that he had smoked weed in the past.  They scheduled a psychological exam before his interview. They are still letting him go to the interview but he won’t know if he’s approved or not until the evaluation has been submitted. Has anyone had a similar experience how long does it take to get approval after the psychological testing. What kind of delays can we expect? We are very nervous that he will be denied because of drug use. But he is not a drug user he’s just tried weed before and thought it was an innocent question

Just trying it and never using it again, will not get you denied. No one with any certainty can tell you how long the wait will be. And YES thousands have had a similar experience. No big deal.

Would be helpful to know which consulate.  As I understand it, admitting marijuana use can be a one-year bar to a visa.

Can be. My experience has been limited but most don't get a ban as they are typically,  by their admission, one time user. Most will pass the psych interview and go on to get their visa. This has been the case for the Philippines.

I see now that the consulate is Bogota.  Maybe others who have gone through that consulate can speak to how much of an issue a one-time use admission will be.
