Thanks very much for a non-critical reply. That would be my concern. Added expense would honestly be negligible considering just spending 1 month more in the US instead of with them in Ecuador would probably pay for the difference in price and my wife will not work in Ecuador or the US until our daughter is older so her not being able to work is irrelevant. I get the picture that it is probably a bad idea, but I thought there might of been someone else who had the same idea and maybe even tried.

I write to you only to say, I understand.  Its one of the thoughts that went through our minds when we were at that stage...

We are all different and some of us are just like that...we all view time differently.  All our priorities are different.

I wish you luck, of course please do not do this as it will be viewed negatively.  Do message me and I can tell you the different stages where I was able to get an expedite, especially once NVC approved and waiting for an interview.  Got expedite on basis of mental distress of him and me..

Today I am in a very sad situation though divorced and destroyed - we both still as much in love - mental health issues for him or things others would call Abuse...  its not fair to only blame the Long waiting time...but it did contribute majorly to his mental health deteriorating as the PTSD he has was past relationship related.  I really know the value of time the way you see it.

Best wishes with a fast process.

Really?  Maybe  you should ask the people who have experienced Adjustment of Status.....I think you would find that they strongly disagree.

Exactly, I haven't even started it and I already dread it

I think whether we have completed the K-1 or CR-1 we all understand to a degree what the OP and his spouse are going through. If you look at my timeline I immigrated on a K-1 visa which took me 12 months to get in hand and my AOS was about 5 months. So in total visa and AOS took 17 months. Then when I removed conditions I waited 7 months and from application to oath I will have waited 11 months. I say all this to say that this is a long process and will test your love for each other, but in the end it is all worth it. I understand that you want to be with each other as that was the same way I felt. Whenever I came to visit my then fiancée during the process I hated to leave but knew that the process would Work itself out and I would see her again on a permanent basis when the visa was approved. Trust me this process can get agonizing but it does not stop when your spouse enters the US. You have to let the govt know every time you move, you may have ROC (Removal Off Conditions) to apply for if you have been married under two years. When you have time together now whether it be in person or online, enjoy each other. I would also recommend self care. Take care of yourself in whatever way you do that because as I said this process can be agonizing.

I am a a detailed person so even on my recent N400 application I was very detailed and it was like that with the K-1, AOS, and ROC. I had take care of myself by doing other things as well as helping others on this website.

I hope this this post helps just a little bit.

Assuming OP got married in Ecuador, wondering whether quicky divorces are available there. The answers he is getting here seem to be assuming he files in the US.

And is assuming a contested situation rather than a amenable one.

The fact that you posted your intentions is not good. There are immigration officers and I’m sure consular officers that will make accounts and peruse through the forums.

Even if they do, what is illegal about all this?

There is nothing illegal about posting it, but the intentions to already be married, then divorce, then get married again to get to the US faster would look suspicious to CO's and IO's. I understand the OP's wife is going to have a baby soon but this is the way that immigration works, there is a wait. The wait is tough as I have previously posted but we all go through it. Self care is the key.

What is the suspicion?  Lack of a bonafide relationship?  What is wrong with wanting to get to the USA faster?  It might be ill advised, but if it is not illegal or fraudulent then what's the problem?

Going to PM is ill advised because it doesn't help the collective.   The whole point of this site is to share knowledge.

Lol, don't you think if faster ways existed we'd all do it! We all miss our loved ones, and want to be back with them as quick as possible. You are not the only person who feels like they are missing out on things. My case was expedited towards the end and now I  have my visa interview on the 12th July. Our cr1 process has taken a year. It's been stressful, but we kept it together and finally we are at the end. You have to just be patient and wait your turn. Just like the rest of us. Remember this, Short time sacrifice for a lifetime of happiness!!

Fraud based on what?  What is fraudulent about it?

What about multiple concurrent I130s? Are you saying it is fraudulent to accept the one that finishes the fastest?

That is one of the reasons I say if in doubt expedite, now there is always a balance, would PTSD for example then become an issue for the medical?
