It depends on your case, We were not given an Approval Stamp in Los Angeles but we were told our case was approved.

You can always ask at the interview they will either give you a desicion or tell you they will notify you through the mail of their desicion.

Remanda,

I-551 is a high-tech credit-card size photo ID card officially called the Permanent Resident Card. Most people call it the Green Card.

It is not a stamp placed in a passport.

Remanda,

To bad it's the wrong answer to your question. You may not be so lucky as margalow.

FutureMrs gave you the correct answer, which is 'Maybe, often but not always'.

He was asking positive question ,so I gave him postitive answer. It doesn't means Interview should be always approved, at least you will be told whether you are approved or not.

So in a round about way the answer is .....Yes, No, or Maybe so.

Each case is individual so there is no answer

There are lots of cases where they are not told of the decision in the interview. They are told that their case needs to be reviewed and that a decision will be mailed to them.
