Hi,

I had a question about legality of marriage. I got married to my spouse in Pakistan where she currently lives. We got married on April 12th however, our wedding ceremony was placed a few months ago on January 5th and the certificate mentions marriage certificate mentions April 12th at which date I was not in the Country of marriage. Our intention was to marry on April 12th but due to lack of resources and availability of guests... we had it done earlier so everyone could attend.

I wanted to know if that is considered a legal marriage and would the officer cause any issues on it.

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

7/13/2017: Interview: APPROVED!!!

7/19/2017: Visa in hand

8/15/2017: POE

You need to get this corrected to the actual date you got married. 

 

I hope you did not have a proxy wedding/nikah (phone, Skype, etc)
