Sorry if this has been answered before but have filed AOS, now wondering when if at all to update my passport to married name as presuming if I don’t before getting AOS  approval I’ll be stuck not being able to change it for at least 2 years if ever due to the aos stamp and if I do change it before then will that cause issues with AOS

any advice appreciated as couldnt find an answer

An I-551 stamp is temporary evidence of lawful permanent residence. It is issued in the passport upon arrival in the US, and serves as proof that the immigrant has permanent resident status while the actual green card is being generated.

Its stamped before green card issued so I guess the answer is sort the passport once aos approved/green card issued?

You get a greencard to put in your wallet, not a stamp in your passport. Change your passport when you feel you can be without photo ID for 4-5 weeks because you mail your current passport to the UK as part of the new passport process.

You need your passport for AOS biometrics. Then there's a lull in immigration needs. Have you already gotten your SSN? You need your passport for that as well.

According to your profile you are a k1.  You won't be seeing this

YMMV

That happens for IR1/CR1 visas at POE. Nothing to do with a K1 entry (you).

Yes I’ve already got my ssn so basically after my biometrics I’m safe to change my passport even though my aos paperwork has my passport in my miaden name?

Yes. Keep it for your biometric appointment. Then up to you if you want the name changed in the passport.
