She was deceptive on her reason for visiting. Changing the story is not going to suddenly grant a visa.

Secondly, her actual reason for visiting kind of sounds like she intends to help care for the child. This is not allowed on a tourist visa - it is considered work and tourists cannot work. A tourist is fine to visit family and be there for emotional support, but COs are also familiar with local customs and it is sounding like this would be likely to cross the line.

She is free to reapply anytime. She just needs to make the $160 donation.

I am not lying, I mistakenly wrote that way ( all siblings), by that what I meant was that we are only the 2 children of our mother, and both are here in states. Some of you are being very judgmental here.

All we have to go on is what you have written here.

Welcome to VJ! Yes, it can be annoying, but the reality is the CO and immigration officers are even more judgmental. Unfortunately your mom is out of luck. She's welcome to contribute another $160 to the US Treasury, but I would be shocked if she got a different outcome a 3rd time.

I couldnt travel due to my health issues.

That is a shame. If you have no other family here then you may need to hire some help around the birth, even better if your husband can also take some time off work to help.

I know what this is like, I had moved before my first pregnancy, had no family around for the birth... it is just what happens when you move far from home.

I did my homework when we planned to have my parents visit from the Philippines. Based on all the b2 threads that I read here, the mere mention of grandkids and pregnancy often results in denial. That's why I never let my parents mention the word grandkids during the interview, unless specifically asked. Kept it generic and always pertaining to just me and the word family. Below on my signature is the link to my parents visa interview and some sample questions that I answered and made them memorize for the interview. Hope it may help in the future. Good luck.

P.S.  I was not pregnant during their interview and I have no plans of getting pregnant again. Have 3 kids already. 😁

she is my mother, I love n respect her the most in this world, I wasnt inviting her here to treat her like a free servant. Its just that during this difficult phase I need her, nobody can replace your own mother.

Sorry, immigration doesn't care. If you want to be with her, go to her.

Nobody implied otherwise. Nobody accused her of being treated like a servant.

I was just pointing out that taking care of a child is considered work. It was never directly stated that would occur, but it is something COs can commonly imply given the circumstances.

Again, I understand your feeling, but was separation from your mother not something you factored into your decision to immigrate?

I had the same case sister. and my mom DID get the visa after a rejection when she reapplied within 1 month. Plz dont bother about the negative ppl here. I think they are all biased because u mentioned Pakistan haha.

They dont realize a pregnant woman is v emotional( and yes even if shes a Pakistani!!!), and that we have a v emotionally binding culture and are v close to our parents unlike the west. And that we DO need our parents espcially MOTHERS for not only physical but EMOTIONAL support too! plz ignore them!

Anyways, here's what u should do:

1- First u need to get a letter from ur doctor that u  are under great stress( which u are definitely as I can see with ur posts how u r asking ppl to help and ppl are making u feel worse!). The doctor should write in letter that u need ur mother's support physically as well as emotionally and u also are under depression which is not good for a pregnant mom as well as child.

2- Then send this letter to ur State’s Congressman/ Senator and ask them to help. Many senators and congressmen have designated sections on their official websites which is prely for help for visas. Explain them ur situation(write them a letter on website form or take email address from there). Send the doctor’s letter to them. Usually congressmen / senator’s designated staff replies immediately! Include ur name, address, phone etc. Also explain ur moms visa got rejected before because ur mother only wanted to come for travel initially. But now as u are suffering from depression as diagnosed recently by the doctor, now it’s critical to ur condition that u see ur mom; and that ur mom has no intention to stay here. Tell about ur siblings in US that they are not financially independent enough to support ur mom in long run. Also tell them ur husband supports ur in laws and other family and cant support ur mom till long; and she cant work here coz shes old. So ur mom will definitely go back to her country. Also explain financial ties to them.

3- Next the Senator staff will send u a letter which will ask u to get a new appointment of visa for ur mom in karachi Counsulate. Get the appointment and send this date to the Senator’s staff. They will coordinate with the Counsulate and recommend u( they cant force them but their recommendation means a lot!).

4- Before u get visa appointment, when u fill in new Visa application form for ur mom, plz explain in detail why ur mom visa got rejected and how the circumstances have changed now. Mention all of this under the question on Visa form which asks ‘have u ever been rejected a visa before?’ Tell them in detail that initially ur mom had only intention of visiting her family n travel but now the circumstances have changed: Now u r under severe depression and that the doctors recommend that u should have parental support! Also explain here how ur mo has social and financial ties in her home country as explained in my point 2- above in Senator’s letter.

5- And in the end plz leave everything to Allah! U know u r honest and u need emotional help which no one can provide no matter how many dollars u pay to them! So plz have faith. Ur intention was never to lie or do fraud, u only wanted to minimize the risk associated with misconceptions about visiting USA by Pakistanis which have become a dilemma now. Because of a handful of fraudulent ppl, honest and genuine cases like urs have to suffer. Plz inbox me and I will inshaAllah help u more. And shame on other ppl trying to make u feel worse. What they fail to understand is theres a hell lot of cultural difference between east and west. They shouldn’t label u as a liar what rubbish. They should be ashamed of making u feel so bad whereas u are just trying to get ur mom here for a simple visit. May Allah Give them guidance ameen

You do realize depression is a clinical diagnosis? Not sure how you can diagnose that. I assume you’re not telling her to ask her doctor to lie, though you are openly telling her to lie about what her mother said about the initial reasons for visit. (“Also explain ur moms visa got rejected before because ur mother only wanted to come for travel initially.”) Then you start accusing other people of fraudulent applications! What do you think lying about the purpose of a visit is? The poster SAID in her own words that her mother said something  different to her actual intention for the express purpose to try get a visa. No one is trying to make her feel bad for getting her mother here but people are taking them to task for lying (yes, that is what not telling the truth is, by omission too) in the first two visa applications.  And now you are telling her to lie again!
