Hello I’m new to this community but I have a concern. My wife’s petition has been approved since June 2018 and the NVC has not notified us for an interview. I have called them and they never seem to know what’s going on. Also lately I’ve been calling them every day and they say they’re busy helping other customers and they hang up the call. Is anybody having the same problem? Oh and I’m Cuban btw. Is anybody in the same situation I am?

Well that’s the thing. I started the process as a LPR más recently I became an USC I sent them my citizenship certificate, well a copy as they requested and they haven’t answered. That was 21 days ago. I’ve sent emails and anything. And I really don’t know what else to do.

I think you are within normal processing time for NVC.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

It's only been 12 months since the petition was approved, and you not long ago have submitted information updating your record.  I don't actually see any issue with the current processing time.

Calling them everyday is going to do you no good, except make them real tired of hearing from you day after day.

So they only recently upgraded you to a USC from LPR.  That takes a little time.  Have you guys sent all the other documents and filled out all the forms and have been told you are in line for an interview?  I think the normal processing time for the NVC is 6 weeks? But check the NVC filers threads in the progress reports subforum.   Remember they dont work weekends.  You seem to be trucking along.

Gonna move this thread more appropriately. Also :time:

We have sent everything they asked for. We actually started the process on June 2016. Then they sent us a letter saying that if we complete the process through a parole it would go faster. We did it as they suggested. Then USCIS cancelled paroles for Cuban but they never notified it and after waiting for 6 months they finally told us. Then we switched back to the original process which is this one and they have taken as you deduced a year which according to the NVC they shouldn’t take longer than that to schedule an interview. Without mentioning that they have closed the embassy in Cuba and have moved it to 2 different countries.

I don't think NVC started processing your case before you became a US citizen....and that process takes a few weeks...then it can take up to a few months before they schedule an interview......
