Just wanted to share that my home town is #1.   BUT, before you get any ideas about moving here, we already have enough of you northerners here already!

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Only 3 Texas towns listed, which seems strange.

Why Port Lavaca first among them?  Palacios probably more desirable.

Why does LaPorte rank at all?  Stinky industrial place.

Galveston appears probably as a show of the flag.

Whhhhaaa....? I personally like so many of the small beach towns on our eastern shore (none listed nor I doubt were considered out of snobbery), and have no desire to go live in any of these places. Essex, MD? ROFL, who considers that a 'beach town'???
