I sent out our I-129F last week and today got the notification that it was received. The notice gave a receipt number beginning with WAC, which indicates the California Service Center. I had read before applying that where it goes is determined by where you live, so I was dreading the VSC. Am I just lucky, or is there a chance this is a typo?

Trying not to get my hopes too far up - the difference is several months!

As of a while ago, all I129F are sent to the California Service Center Now. The only way I believe it ends up at the VSC is if you are flagged for more detailed background checks.

Thanks! Technically I didn't get the paper form yet, but they texted me the receipt number!

So, now I'm rethinking how accurate a lot of the stuff I read is. Are the processing times on here mostly correct still?

Not really.  The data is self-reported, and you will see K-1 applicants believing that their petition is at the TSC, because Texas is where they sent it to the lockbox, etc.  The vast majority currently go to California, but that is subject to change at any time.

Processing times on the USCIS website may be more realistic.
