Hong Kong Medical while pregnant

We are trying to get the medical done with an interview date closing in. The authorized clinic  are requesting we get a certificate stating that she’s able to get an X Ray from an obstetrician. On the visa travel site it clearly states that she provides the physician with consent but it didn’t state from where. We’ve contacted a few obstetrics clinics and they are not willing to do it. .. very annoying. What seems like the simplest thing has become harder and has put a halt to our progress. Isn’t she allowed to consent for her self ?

Yes her consent is what is needed

How do I go about this ? The clinic is asking for a obstetric to give her a certificate and we’ve called many clinics and they are not willing to do it. Time is ticking

Personally, I think they are wrong requiring a Drs. consent as she is the one who makes the decisions for her own medical care.  As long as she understands the risks and the take the proper precautions then they should do it.   Unfortunately my opinion doesn't help you.

YMMV

What confuses me most about this is are there any doctors at this authorized clinic that could ask for her consent? Instead of delaying our process sending us elsewhere only to come back with consent from another hospital. I’m sure it should be our decision to go through with this not someone else’s. I’m pretty patient but I’m growing very impatient with Hong Kong’s ways of doing things.

Maybe try over in your subforum.  Seems to be a better choice because others may have experience in your country are more apt to have a solution.

What you have posted is the Hong Kong portal, not a forum. I do not think that there is a HK forum, or HK subform. The only forum for HK, a SAR of the PRC is the China Regional Forum. I will be honest with you, there are some HK folks there, but the forum mainly deals with people in mainland China, going through the US consulate in Guangzhou, ~ 130km up the Pearl River from HK.

Has she been seen by her own private obstetrician? Who has she been seeing for her pre-natal check-ups and care? Perhaps that is an avenue of help that you desire?

Just a thought.

YMMV

Good luck on your immigration journey.
