Does intended date of arrival affect processing!

Hi, I’ve seen this mentioned before but was just wondering if the date you put and they also ask at your interview when you’re planning on entering.... does this affect how quickly your case is processed? I put a date towards the end of July and also said the same thing to them! (Working out notice at work) I’m just a bit baffled as now stuck in NI Administrative Processing for nearly 7 working days now with no case updates since last week. Just curious to if this could slow down the process!

As far as I can tell it has no impact, I assume it may have been relevant many many years ago.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I don't think it has anything to do with your case. An average case pushes on through in about a week regardless of expected travel. A few years back when the embassy passed out interview dates, they may have given an interview preference to those who wanted to travel soon over somebody who wanted to travel four months out.

Okay thanks for letting me know; mine has currently been stuck in NI AP for the past week so just trying to reassure myself!

It could be extra busy there with people lining up student visas or holiday visas. Maybe some staff is on summer holiday so a little short handed. Don't panic yet.

See, I’m not the only one saying summer holidays! 😆

Seriously though, I’m drowning in work and all my articles are going out much slower than they would normally, because we’ve got someone off sick and some people on holiday...the embassy is probably no different - so everyone’s is taking a little longer. And @Wuozopo is right re student visas and holidays visas too - time-wise, that would make perfect sense that they’d be getting loads more now, which’ll all have a knock on effect. X

Thanks guys I really appreciate your feedback! Just want all of this stress to be over! And having it move to NI AP and you think it’s the final step is agonising!
