I am also a curious American! Born and bred, and a very proud one at that. I also have to take an oath to defend the Constitution, and I take that very seriously. That means upholding the rule of law. We do not do summary executions in this country; we have a big, beautiful Constitution to provide us all, citizen and visitor alike, with due process. The 5th and 14th are definitely in my top 6 amendments (14th is #1, 4th and 1st are tied for 2nd, then the 5th/6th/8th are tied for 4th, very close). 

 

Pls, there is so much snide commentary here. Heaven forfend I have breached some protocol here for expressing my disapproval of extrajudicial execution in a manner that is not to your liking, kind sir.

As a proud American as well an educated American I take offense to being lumped into the category of 'murican which is intended to be derogatory to conservative Americans and perpetuate the belief that conservatives are uneducated. 

 

In a section of a public board that is full of opinion pieces I stated mine sorry I did not conform to what you consider correct and proper. 

 

I also stated mine was a no legal professional opinion, merely an opinion. I am happy for you to be a proud lawyer and to stand by your convictions and beliefs I choose not to share them, no need to quote amendments to me, I am quite capable of reading them myself, I have not however ranked them in any precedence because as a rule of law, they should be equal, no?

I am curious why the focus was on the administration of capital punishment, and not the limitations of the Sanctuary policies adopted by some localities.  I guess some laws are fine to break.
